I'd love to stay there, but I haven't yet. I miss that television show. It was one of the funniest of all time.

The hotel that Fawlty Towers was based on was bought and recently reopened as the Hotel Gleneagles. Prunella Scales attended the opening along with a replica of the car that featured in one of the episodes.

The real hotel is The Gleneagles in Torquay.
However the scenes you see of the outside of the hotel were actually a country club in Wooburn Green Buckinghamshire.
It was destroyed by fire in 1991
