Kaorin, it's not actually gullible or something. TOUCHABLE, VISIBLE fossils, behind them, you may see there's more to that story. Noah's flood puts fossils on top of the mountains. All living things are created at the end of the seventh day. So dinosaurs and people are iving at the same time. But all dinosaurs died. There's proof, you know, there are solidified footprints of people and dinosaurs together in a place, and according to analysis and blah blah, the footprints of the the humans and dinosaurs were the same age, and none of them had any signs of frantic escape. It just wasn't mentioned anywhere. The Bible did not mention "dinosaurs" because they were not classified. Every walking living thing was called "an animal". No big complicated stuff like classification of mammal, avian, reptiles, blah blah.... And perhaps these dinosaurs died off before real philosophers start to come to know these beauties. So don't be doubtful if you find no illustrations of dinosaurs in your picture-bible.
Then scientists PREDICT the universe's age. They GUESSED. You'll never find any certainty to this matter, like the chances of meteors striking earth? They calculate, and predict and guessed. In the older days, when astronomy was relatively new, the astronomers only said "probably", and "predicted to be". But perhaps now that men thought with their modern gizmos and gadgets they can do anything correctly, and perhaps got braver and posted on the media "confirmed". it's just plain wrong! It's just like in the Bible, when men trusted their own power to build the tower to the heavens. It was a good thing, but God put a stop to it. Men trusted their own power. Isn't that what scientists are doing? And in the Western countries - "In God We Trust". Is that so? Then tell them to trust the Bible and stop predicting earth's age. It's like questioning God's existence or age. Isn't it clearly written and stated in the Bible? Are you questioning his Word?
How I wish people would just change! Modern doesn't mean more techs and machines on predicting such stuff. Whoops, I believed I just offended many ppls. Just trust in the Lord if you believe. Live and let live.

Our oldest carbon dated rock so far has been 3 billion years old, our oldest human is 6 million years old, yet we also know from red shift and our quite successful programs of mapping our galaxy and solar system along with the very accurate science of measuring the decay of almost anything, we have the earth dated at 6 billion years, approximately ½ the age of the known universe. I know this freaks you bible thumpers out, but it has been proven, what real or scientific proof do the Christians bring to this discussion, belief and or faith can not be substantiated?

It could be. I believe the various tests are accurate in their particular range. God said a day was like 1000 years and 1000 years a day. I can see that this would allow an "old earth".

Yeah i believe it is since it takes a few million years for erosion to occur so that rivers can take shape and land formations such as cliffs.

Yes. Science on that matter does not lie, and has been irrefutably proved. The 'science' that God created the Earth, what, i dunno, 6,000 years ago? That's just friggin' laughable.
Especially when there are SEEABLE, TOUCHABLE, REAL fossils of life forms, plants and insects that date back at least 2-3 million years! Yet people STILL believe the earth is only 6,000 years old? It's called gullibility and close-mindedness.

Approximately, yes. It isn't really possible to determine an exact date - none of us were around to keep track! Technically, it could be considered even older as the universe is older and the Earth is a product of the universe.

No!
According to Biblical History from creation to the flood would be around 2000 yrs and from the flood to Jesus another 2000 or so years and from Jesus to now we know is around 2000 yrs, so that would probably make the earth a little above 6000 yrs old.

The official figure is 4.55 billion years old and yes I believe that.
The Literalists however will be up in arms over this... just so you know.
