"Evangelical" simply means that these are Christians devoted to spreading the Gospel; Jesus tells us that ALL Christians are commanded to be evangelical (Matthew 28:19 and Mark 16:15).
Instead of getting into doctrinal disputes, I suggest you put a spotlight onto your own efforts at evangelism. Share your witnessing stories and ask for tips from others. There will probably be many misconceptions about the Catholic method of evangelism; answer them respecfully, but, again, resist the temptation to get into any disputes, which tend to separate believers instead of joining them together.
I hope this helps. Peace.

Well, I'll tell you my point of view...having been raised Catholic and having attended Catholic Schools 12 years. But left the catholic church and became an Evangelical Christian. I believe I didn't choose to be Catholic..I chose to be Christian when I understood what that meant., really meant ...a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I asked Jesus into my life and Heart and was Baptized when old enough to understand what it meant. When I was Catholic I didn't like...putting Mary who I honor as Jesus' mother..on the same level as Jesus who is God. I found it was against what I believed the ten commandments meant ..put NO Other God Before me...and Not to worship idols... to kneel at a statue and pray to Mary.
I can go directly to Jesus. He is the Bridge or mediator between God the Father and man. I wasn't comfortable with kissing the foot of the cross, Kissing the Bishops ring, or Ashes on my forehead on Ash Wednesday. I know they are outward expressions of faith, but they made me uncomfortable in my spirit. You have to go with what God Lays in you spirit. Jesus said to remember Him with Communion, and I agree with that. I don't believe that the Euchrist actually becomes the actual body of Christ. He said "Do thist in rememberance of Me." Not" this is Me." So that is a few things I think is different. Maybe that has changed in the Catholic Church...but when I went..you still genuiflected before you entered your pew because the body of Christ was in the Tabranacle. I just couldn't believe that. The bible says Jesus died Once and For All of us. He Is ALIVE...He came down off the cross and Rose from the dead. I am overwhelmed with the sacrifice He made for us. But I am so grateful He is alive, and not on that cross anymore. I look to Him and Keep my eyes on his teachings, and try to live like He did. I do the best I can and if I mess up, I get on my knees in the privacy of my room and ask forgiveness. I know...when I am trully sorry that He has forgiven me. I know it my heart .
If you don't believe Jesus was born of a virgin, died and rose from the dead, and is alive...And is part of the Trinity.Father ,SOn and Holy Spirit. Jesus is God. If a religion doesn't believe Jesus is God...they are not Christian. They are a cult.

they will definitely try to "convert" you eventually. They generally view Catholicism as un-Christian. I know because I was one before I returned to the Church. Some are VERY extreme about it some will try to convince you that you are misguided and have been lied to. I know the lines.
Just look at Born Again Christian and Robert K above to get an idea.
Edit to Robert K
I was answering the question that was asked...might he be "evangelized" and was using your answer to his question as an example of what he might expect.

It really depends on the group.
Evangelical is a rather broad term. They might be raging conservatives to middle of the roaders.
So yes, you might be evangelized.

they're in worry-free words attempting to legitimize their personal life. They understand Christ stated there change into to be in worry-free words one Church, so that they understand their church exists in open defiance of the obviously suggested will of Christ. yet they desire that perchance, merely per chance in the journey that they can make the unique Christian Church, the Catholic Church, seem undesirable adequate, then perchance the rebellion that gave start to their unauthorized artifical custom of thousands of conflicting denominations can by some potential be justified. to declare that each and every Christian in the international from the time of Christ until eventually the sixteenth Century change into damned makes Christ impotent, and makes Luther their authentic savior.

The Catholic Church does not follow God's Word.
One example...
The Catholic Church claims Mary was sinless, but God's Word says ALL have sinned.

God looks on the heart.
There are some practices and doctrines in the Catholic church that I don't agree with, but I am no one's judge, nor am I better than anyone else. Those who seek God with all their heart will find Him. And one CAN do that and still be in the Catholic church.

They think catholics are misguided, because they pray through Mary and the priests(for forgiveness) and also having all the statues in the church.

Some may believe that you are mislead in the Catholic faith. We pray directly to Jesus and ask Him to forgive us our sin. In communion, we believe the elements represent the body and blood of Christ, and aren't actually the body and blood.
