He says that he accepts me as a person but he left a 'book' in my room that said what I was doing was wrong. How can I talk to him about it? I am religious too but not as strongly as him. I can't help who I am but at the same time he is a nice guy and I really want to like him. I don't want my sexuality to become as stigma for him. Is there anything in the bible that contradicts that Homosexuality is wrong?

Thanks for all the replies. I didn’t know how many religious people there were on here. You are all reading from a book that is over 2000 years old. The bibles core values of love and trust are still valid, but if people continue to 'preach' this in 20 years time when sexuality is more accepted, people who still take what it says to be the truth will be very alone...

maybe check the bookstore and leave him a 'book'. Look for something that was written by a homosexual christian. There must be some out there,
I think that most homosexuals are born that way(some choose it because of life expirence and there isn't anything wrong with that, either whatever makes YOU happy and you''re not hurting others)
I'm an introvert, it's like expecting me to be the life of the party...will never happen because I was born this way......I can't change it......if you are happy with who you are and you know in your heart that this is the you you are meant to be....so be it

The 'wikidicitionary' may well be good, yet I doubt it. apparently to me as an basic connection with 'centers,' interior the 'harem,' the place 'castrated adult males' may well be uncomplicated place. some 'eunuchs' are born into the 'service. some 'eunuchs' have been made such with the help of adult males, for the 'service.' some 'eunuchs' have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of service. One could remember, that an eunuchs existence grow to be a stable one whilst in comparison with maximum persons of the day and it extremely isn't any marvel one might willingly choose for considered one of these course.

There is no way to make him understand this, other than to convince him that his faith is false. You will not be able to do this.

Ideally, you should be able to find a book called something like Bullying People Into Feeling Guilty About Aspects Of Themselves They Cannot Help Is Wicked And You Should Not Do It and leave it in his room. I don't think any such book exists though. The people who might want to leave books like that about for people are generally more tolerant than fanatics like that.

The bottom line is, he is NOT a nice guy and you should not be so concerned about liking him if he is so bigotted and unaccepting. Get a new roommate. And sorry you got the usual jerkoffs telling you here the same crap. Aren't they vile?

A true religious person will accept you for who you are, even if they don't agree with or understand your orientation. Ditch the roomie and find another. You can't spend the rest of the immediate future being made to feel as though you're doing something wrong just by being YOU. I wish you the best of luck with this.

The bible states that same sex is an abomination. Your room mate is correct. He is just trying to save your soul. You stated you were religious but not that religious. Not sure what that means, but the only way for mankind to exist is to procreate. You can't do that if you are having same sex relations. Also, you need to realize that sex has nothing to do with love. Most "gay" people talk about love, but they keep having sex with multiple partners. That is wrong for both straight and gay people. Would you be willing to argue with GOD that you were born that way? You will get your chance. We all will be judged by GOD. I just pray that you find your way. Whichever way that is.

I've always been confused as to why homosexuals feel the need to let people know about their preferences. I don't talk to anyone except my lover about what I like to do and how I want him to do it with me. Why should anyone else announce to the world and their acquaintances statements that include their bedroom habits?

My cut at it is that he has learned too much about your sexual preferences for the type of relationship you have. Please tell him to forget you mentioned it, and continue your friendship without that as a point of discussion, as you would never make comments about his ways of exciting and satisfying himself.

we have all lost our way. In a perfect world we would all be much different including your flatmate. Jesus loved and accepted especially the different, the outcast. What he did not tolerate was hipocrasy and self rightouesness. I believe you can have a personal relationship with the god of the bible. Please do not let your flatmate represent to you the only picture of Gods word to you. Seek God out and he will find you. Once he does you will be able to have compassion and great love for this contrary person in your life.

First : you were not born like that, this society with its bad things used your mind and let you believe what you believe...try to pray and ask GOD to help you understand...REALLY understand WHO ARE YOU!

It is written in the Bible about the Sodom & Gomor God didn't like what those persons were doing then and HE IS THE SAME,HE
didn't change...so...pray for yourself!

Did you hear about Seraphim Rose? Read about him, please!

Have a good angel with you every single moment!

Your flatmate is telling you the truth. God did not make you gay, you choose that life. God is against that lifestyle. Here is God's word on that about it.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

God would not say these things, if it was He who made you gay. You made that sinful choice and your do need to repent and stop living that lie.
