in my experiences, the guys and girls who opted to change thier hair color did so out of rebelion and it was an obvious communication method to tell others they were not inhibited and wanted to have a good time, be wild, exciting and enjoy being "bad"
I was born with red hair and over time it turned more brown, so now not much attention for being different
which, I'm glad. we have a relative who is bottle blonde and enjoys the attention she gets
she chose it, she gets it.
I choose to get attention otherways and have my fun differently
