try shooting from a different angle up high or really low always works best. don't always put the subject in the centre of the frame as this can be quite boring and try taking photographs of unusual abstract things those photo always look good and can inspire you to do other things.

I assume that you are the photographer and want to take a good photo. . .

But what is "good"? That is rather a subjective term. I know many people who like abstract, they think they are good - I don't, so I think they are "bad".

Good could also refer to exposure, framing, and other mechanical aspects. Those are also somewhat subjective.

But to be "good" at anything requires practice - and lots of it. I would suggest using a camera that you are comfortable with (and no, it doesn't have to be a top of the line digital - my camera is a 35 year old Olympus OM series film camera), and take lots of photos from all different angles and subjects. Also, if you are using film, pick one film type and one lab to use (this will give you some consistancy while you learn - once you get the basics down you can experiment).

I would suggest that you go to the library and check out some books on basic photography. Many will tell you exactly how the shot was set up and the exposure settings. Try to use those as an example. Also, keep a small notebook with you and record your settings, time of day and other information - that way when you get the pictures you have something that you can look at and make changes from there.

Join a photo club in your area. They are a wealth of information and are more than willing to help a "newby" learn something.

Purchase a couple of photo magazines and study those shots - I am always inspired by what I see in the mags.

Most importantly, however, learn your camera. Whether you are using an old dinosaur like mine, or the newest one from Nikon, you must master your camera. You must be able to use all the controls without thinking. (This was expressed a few months ago when my local camera club had a photojournalist speak. She got her camera and took the week off. Photographed everything that she could find and made 10,000 exposures learning what her camera could do and how to make it do it. To this date, I think she is one of the best photographers that I know.)

I hope I helped, if you need more information, please feel free to contact me.

It would help if you knew what you were doing? Any proficient photographer can take a point and shoot camera and snap a better photo than anyone who's not proficient in photography. Knowing the cameras capabilities, knowing about lighting, the camera's aperture and shutter speed setting, and how to crop and compose a photo plus having an understanding of what you're looking to accomplish would certainly help... a portrait or a landscape, or wildlife or a glamor shot? What kind of camera do you have? ETC.

Not sure what you mean. If you mean of yourself then yes, dress nicely and comb your hair etc.
If you mean take one of someone else, invest in a good quality digital camera that can do it for you.

For outdoor photography, some of dramatic images are found making use of "axis" light, which is very low sun (in very early morning, or end of day)... shooting with sun nearly directly behind.

practice, practice, practice

take pictures of extremely small things and extremely large things and don't be afraid to experiment - with digital cameras, the costs of experimenting have reduced enormously, since you don't have to buy new film every 36 pictures...

First thing you do is you must wear your best dress and do not forget to put on your make up (if you are a girl) for men you must have to put gel on your hair... and the best place to get your best shot... that's it... so simple...
