A coffee shop would be better for just casual chatting, but a pub would be a better setting if you're feeling sort of mischievous or want to unwind without a lot of talking.

I love coffee shops. I have one about two blocks (5 min walk) from my house and I don't get there nearly as much as I'd like. It's in an yuppy, but in no way pretentious, neighborhood with a great mixed of ages, races & families vs. singles. It's nice to sit and people watch w/a cup of tea and a scone. Hey, I just may go there tonite w/the kids. Thanks for the idea!

Aye. A cold one at the pub with me heartys and a few choice wenches makes for a fun and lively evening. A game of darts or pool and some gamely conversation.
