Can you offer to hire some staff to do the jobs that she'd otherwise have to do? Be with her for the day - when I got married, my brother flitted in with his fiancee and then nicked off and hung out with my husband (sure he was in my husband's wedding party but he also left me to deal with freaking out sri lankan parents - mine, not my husbands) for the day which was NO help at all to me.

Also, make a really lovely speech for your sister - much as I love my brother he made a dog of his speech at mine. He spent the whole time making fun of me and no matter what people say, it's not okay to make fun of the bride on her wedding day, no matter how great her sense of humour and ability to take a joke!!!

But back to you and your sister. Be there for her on the day, take care of your parents for her on the day because otherwise it's stuff she'll need to worry about and that's not fair on her.

A present would be great - get her a spa-package (depending on where you live) for after her wedding - she'll need it - believe me. Once the flash and glamour is over, she'll be needing a major pick me up as after weddings brides can become quite depressed as for some reason they can mourn the end of the wedding and wedding planning phase - I guess weddings kind take over your lives.

Anyway, hope some of that was useful and tell her congrats from Yahoo Answers and us Answerers

So let me guess;

syster = sister
gift = give

"What can I give to my sister for her marriage?"

Answer: I don't know. You haven't told us anything about her, except that she's a "syster".

A handmade quilt made for her with the date quilted into the design. I have given this gift before and the person is always thrilled to receive it.

Does she need small appliances - toaster, blender that sort of thing? or perhaps a lamp - mixing bowls. Be practical!
