My hair is really fine and straight.
However It has recently began to curl slightly at the ends,
Giving way to massive tangles and knots.. almost like giant dreadlocks..I brush It or attempt to everyday. but it never comes all the way out without a giant fight and loss of hair.

Any way To make the two hour long process of brushing faster and less painful on my head??

Finding some great shampoos and conditioners should help. Or you can just buy a leave-in-conditioner. I don't recommend those kid detanglers though. I tried my youngest sister's once and it made my hair feel gross.

You can comb it through with conditioner while you are in the shower. You can put it up before you go to bed, so that in the morning it won't be in a giant knot. You can get your ends trimmed. You can use a spray in detangler, that would help. Breaking off your hair everyday by brushing it, is only making the matter worse. Healthy hair does not tangle as much as damaged hair does. I would also use a wide tooth comb instead of a brush.

When you're in the shower, wash your hair and rinse out the shampoo. Then put in sort of a lot of conditioner and let it sit on there for the remainder of the shower. Then when you rinse it leave a little in- not enough for you to break out from if you leave too much. Then if you want slather in some light non oily leave in conditioner when still towel wet. Comb everything thru and let dry naturally. Brush a few times a day and clip the ends 1/2 inch once a month.

Use a leave in conditioner (like Pantene) and then put some frizzease in it. This will help with the knots and make it a lot easier to comb. And make sure you are using a wide tooth comb.

braid it at night, and when you go to take it out and style in the morning, wet it first and then undo the braid. when your hair is wet it wont tangle and frizz up like it does when it's dry. and with brushing your hair. its best to use a wide tooth comb. dont use a brush as they rip the hair out (like you are experiencing). and comb the hair section by section, starting from the bottom, working your way up to the top. best to do that when your hair is damp. be gentle. when combing each section, comb the bottom knots out, and make your way up the hair strand. if you start from the top, all you're doing is compressing the knots in closer together making them harder to get out.

Try conditioner in the shower if you don't already also there used to be detangling sprays you can use, if you can't find one mix up some conditioner and water in a spray bottle and use it before you brush your hair that should help.

Use a wide-tooth comb and start at the bottom. As you get the knots out at the bottom, work up. Conditioner would help, too.
