I live life to fullest to enjoy each and every day because I don't know how long I will be here. I make decisions that will not bring me anxiety, I love my fellow human being, and I will do what I can to help mankind because I want to leave the world a good place for the sake of my children.

That motivates me.

The point of life is....whatever you make it!
It makes no difference if you believe in a God or not.
If the only thing that motivates a theists in this life is what effect it may have on the afterlife, don't you think their omnipotent and omniscient God would see right through that and see how shallow and manipulative that is?
If there is a hell, these people are going there, no doubt.
The only "sin" is NOT LIVING your life while you have it.

Here are my rules:
obey the golden rule and in some way, leave this place better than you found it.
Simple, huh?

thats a dumb phucking question, surely it answers its self. If you don't believe in an after life and thus don't look forward to dieing then surely you'd want to live for as long as you could and make the most of it.

as for 'with no end result, what's the point of achievment?' how about self gratification, homes!

I hate these religious nuts who spout drivle, their own god would be ashamed of them,

tell your mate to get a life and tell them Jonny Atlantis told you to say it.

There is no point...and with no afterlife there doesn't have to be, that leaves you free to live life as you choose, pending it doesn't land you in jail but to me knowing that there is no after life gives me a clear conscience, knowing that I'm not here to impress anyone..just to live for myself. And that makes me feel better then any religion

I'd think lack of beliefe in the afterlife would motivate you MORE in this life. If it's all you've got, why not live it to the fullest and do what you can?

that's pretty good motivation to keep going. You only have your life, make the most of it

Your life must be miserable. Otherwise, why would you care about some happy afterlife?

Let's turn that around: If I'm going to go to Heaven when I die, why should I make an effort in this life?

I think this is a question only you can answer. Why not honestly consider it and give your own answer?
