people usually snore because the tongue relaxes thus "falls back" and partially blocks the person's airway. obesity is also a factor for snoring due to the person's extra mass that could also impede the airway.

There can many reasons people snore. Adnoids, respiratory problems but the biggest problem is because that person is usely over weight.
