I would say yes you could get hurt. Every sport has some risk when in training.

everyone's had good answers here, and Yes you can and more than likely will get an injury.

anything you do is likely to cause an injury, and the fact that it's a contact sport or exercise only doubles the risk

and the possibilites are endless, but most common injuries are boxers fracture (often a very small hairline fracture along the underside of the hand near the pinky.), pulled hamstrings, or shoulder injury, often minor knee injury, or foot injury.

because in kickboxing you use these areas the most and are the most prone to injury.

it's also possible to get some rib injuries because of an accidental strike or wild kick or punch, but it doesn't happen too often.

a lot of Ice, compression and rest with a little asperin will often help the healing process if you do get an injury.

YES! It's guarantee! To say you won't get hurt in kickboxing is like as say apples you grow will be cubical shape.

However learn to listen carefully, learn to observe, be sure to train technique throughly, and ALWAYS keep sparring in control.

EVERYONE in kickboxing get hurt pretty much once every month, most time nothing serious, mostly really nasty bruises or hairline fracture. However that's the reason theyre usually a such good fighter. They have experience so they know what they're capable of and what they can or can't do in real situtation. Oh also once you start, you will love it enough to stay in despite of all bad thing that may happen :-)

You can get hurt training in ANY fighting discipline, whether it is eastern martial arts or western boxing and wrestling. In fact I can think of anyone in the last 33 years that Iv'e met in the matial arts that hasn't has some injury or another as a result or trainng, everything from simple bruises to broken bones. Goes with the teritory.

Of course you can be hurt! Its a great experience and will toughen you up, but make sure your ready for it. My friend Austen damaged some ligaments in his knee a couple of years ago and it still bothers him all the time. Moral: Don't get sidekicked in your knee! I've also seen people on internet videos break their legs just by having their kick blocked.

Yes, any contact sport runs this risk.
Although basketball and football are riskier than kickboxing.

Yeah! If you don't stretch, you could get hurt doing karate, judo, tae kwon do, or aikido! Just like you can hurt your self doing basketball, soccer, or football. Yeah, you could get hurt.

Can? I would say you will.

It is an intricate part of the training but don't worry it will all heal and you will feel great about it.
