should his sins be forgiven.

He had the chance to convert to christianity - but withdrew the atheists opportunity to find the lord. If the atheist hadnt been murdered who is to say he wouldnt have become a christian later in life?

if you are suggesting that god knows the hearts of men - and what they will believe at some time in the future - then why do many christians suggest that atheists go to hell?

I'm guessing that God would have known the murdered man's heart and future, and would be gracious enough to take him to heaven anyway.....as for the murderer, it's a tough concept to accept even when you are a Christian, that someone who has done something that evil can get forvgiven but God sees all our sins as equal, which means that you need forgiveness if you have murdered or if you have ever had a bad thought about someone. That means we all need it, and it's God's heart to keep the door open so we can get it.

Hey it was the atheists choice to be atheist. He could just as easily died from a different kind of random act. Who knows for certain, other than God , if the one who asked forgiveness was granted it? He may have not been sincere enough or he might have skipped the part about accepting Jesus as his savior. No one knows but God the hearts of men. He will be the one to determine who is qualified to enter heaven, not us.

God's gift of total forgiveness extends until our last breath and covers ANY and ALL of our sins. That is why we our encouraged to accept His gift the first time we hear His plan of salvation, because we do not know when our last breath will be. That does not mean though, that you cannot accept it after once rejecting it. He is the God of second chances (and 3rd and 4th and so on...) Besides, the godless man who was murdered did not only reject the gift once. He rejected it every second of every day, from the first time he first heard it until he died.

Urr. . . I would rather says, outside the love of Christ, there's no heaven. As for the rest of atheist, they are just yet to know God. They are, technically not going to hell yet.

But when their bell rings, and they have yet to believe in Christ, err. . . . that will not be a nice thing to be in.

So, coming back to killing before knowing God, surely God accept them. But they have (still have, no choice) to face the law of the land. Jail or life stantance.

By the way, just to inform you that in many Asia countries, Prison ministry is very successful. One can see people coming to know Christ. There are many gangster, who went in for killing, manslaughtering etc, but coming to know Christ. Many became pastors too.

Of cause, for some, accepting Christ just make it easy to walk down that lane to be hang. Sad, . . . but peace on their face.

I love Ezek. In 33 it says, for evil doer who repent, live is for them. For the rightous who sin, dead is their rewards. So, be it rightous or evil, doing what is right, and believe in God is the way out.

excuse me. is it possible for u to frame this question meaningfully ?u mean to say that a fellow who did not believe in god killed another nonbeliever and then became a christian. u want to know whether the man who became a christian will be punished for his previous crime or not ?and the man who was killed would have become a christian if he was not killed. this is the meaning of your question . isn't it ?now irrespective of religion or belief in god or not, whoever does wrong will be punished. that is the rule of the human court. i think the same rule applies in god's court also.but may be your punishment might reduce if u have realized your sin .that is called repentance.may be god would know whether the murdered man would have changed himself or not & according to that he might punish him.hope u can understand what i mean.

romans 6:7,23 shows that death is the payment we make for sinning. when we die, our sins have been payed for.
john 5:28,29 says there will be a resurrection of righteous and unrighteous.

so when we die, we will be resurrected back to the earth, after Christ's millenial reign spoken of in revelation 20:7, satan will be allowed to try and mislead everyone on earth. that is our final test. who we follow then determines our future. if we follow satan, we are permanently destroyed, if we follow Jehovah we will live forever (psalms 37:10,11)

as for those who are alive when armageddon arrives, it will be those who have accepted the truth about Jehovah and his son Jesus who will survive. those who have ignored the truth will be destroyed. and just in case someone hasn't heard the truth, do you think God is so unjust as to kill them for not having heard?
would God kill babies and tribal type people for not having heard? Jehovah is not cruel.
but for those who have heard the truth, and ignored it, they have to pay for their actions with death at armageddon.

but God shows mercy on the dead, the bible doesn't teach death leads to hell for sinners. rather, ecclesiastes 9:5 shows they are unconscious.
so the choices are either everlasting life, or everlasting unconsciousness

God knows every man's heart - and knows if the victim would have repented. God is Good and God is Just... as humans we must filter everything through our human perspectives and emotions, so have a hard time understanding perfect knowledge and perfect justice. God bless. ~Nisa

According to Jesus, it is never too late to "Come to God". At his own death site he welcomed a sinner.
Armageddon is the second chance offer for the dead atheist.

It he truely turned to Christ, he would be forgiven (by God) of all his siins, including the murder.

However, man would still required him to pay ( jail time, etc.)

Because he want to go to heaven, this is what he was told when someone wanted to convert him.
I have even be told that it is the short cut to heaven, you just need to believe him and you are sure to go to heaven.
