DO: TRULY Listen to them, Look them in the face when listening (shows youre not just pretending to listen), Keep communication open.
DONT: Dwell on the past (neither person wants to hear about all your ex's) lie or hide anything, honesty and trust are the most important thing for the foundation of a good lasting relationship. This doesnt mean air all your "dirty laundry" this just means that if asked a question that you wish you didnt have a "dirty secret" to answer with tell the person that you would rather not discuss that issue or else let them know the dirty secret and that you are ashamed of it. Better to have someone accept you, good and bad, then for them to dump you later because they found out you did something (your dirty secret) AND lied about it as well.
