Russia and the CIS consists, as an Australian might say, of "Moscow, St. Petersburg and the bush" Flights from the UK are freely available to Moscow and St Petes'. BA and Aeroflot fly to both. You can get good prices on Swiss and sometimes SAS Scandinavian and sometimes even better deals by looking at the journey as two one ways. Bear in mind that Moscow has two airports SVO which is the equivalent of our (UK) LHR and DME which is the equivalent of Gatwick. Miles out and ruddy impossible to get to in the rush hour. Now, Kazakhstan is a completely different matter - as indeed are all the "'stans" - and websites such as expedia are a complete waste of time when it comes to this. You will need to know what you want to do and when. Some airlines (eg Lufthansa and more importantly Turkish airlines - Turkish are a very good cheap way of getting around this neck of the woods, even though it involves bouncing through Istanbul) do operate from western airports - poetic licence on Istanbul, please. Avoid the Russia connections unless you are going there anyway, from a visa point of view. You need to watch some of the internal 'stans airlines as their aircraft are, well, you need to watch them.
So, it is not a question of which site. Even though some of the 'stans airlines have sites do not, I repeat do not, rely on them. Remember that in some of these areas having a ticket and having a reservation does not always mean that you are, er, booked. You may well need the "special" passport (the one with George Washington's face on it) to have your booking "found". Trips to this region need quite a bit of planning. Find a travel agent that knows or specialises in this area.

nicely right here's the reality even although those web pages declare that they have got the most inexpensive flights in spite of the indisputable fact that the reality is you only flow on the web website of the airline your are going to vacation on then there'll be a field which will ask you the position the date and time that you want to leave oh i forgot additionally they're going to ask once you're coming again then there'll be a itemizing of the flights seats all at diverse expenditures sturdy success!

Absolutely has to be http://www.skyscanner.net for budget airlines - not sure if that'll be much help for the places you want to visit, but it also shows scheduled airlines on the same routes, and allows you to be quite flexible in the way you search.
