I seem to get a heat rash when i exercise, i have only developed this over the last couple of months and it seems to get worse. It only happens when i excersise hard and therefore sweat. I've always stayed fit and gone to the gym so why have i developed this now. Any idea why i'm getting this and how to stop it? It appears like little raised dots on my skin and reddish in colour??????

I get the same thing mate, when i sweat heavy or have a shower i get like red areas appering which itch like hell for about 3/4 of an hour.It drives you mad.Ate you on any type of meds or steroids, they can cause this. The thing to do is go to see your dr and ask for some LORATADINE tablets, there the best, there anti hystermines and take half an hour before exercising and that works wonders. You can buy them in pharmacys, but they make u drowsey, loratadine dont have side effects at all..go see your doc ok

In most cases, heat rash will clear up on its own in a few days if the affected area is kept cool and dry. So cool your body in an air-conditioned room or with a fan, or take a cool shower or bath and let your skin air dry. If you can't cool down right away and you continue to sweat, don't add any antiperspirant, lotion, insect repellent, or powder to your skin -- these may trap more sweat, making your symptoms worse.

Once the skin is cool and dry again, apply calamine lotion or an over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone cream to relieve itching. Don't use any type of oil-based product, which might block your sweat glands.

If your prickly heat does not go away within a few days, or if you develop an infection where the bumps have burst, you may need medication, so call your doctor.

This sounds like hives. Does it happen while you're at the gym? Maybe you're allergic to the cleaning solution used to clean the pads on the machines ( that's assuming you use the machines). Ask the staff if they've changed cleaning products within the last couple of months.

it sounds like a heat rash, or it could be a friction burn if it is apperaring inbetween where two bits of skin rub together...before exercising wash your body with cool water as this will lower your skin temperarture and use a good branded anti persperant body wash and spray, after excericse again have a cool shower and make sure you dry yourself propably, use talc as well as that will help soak up any sweat

A Heat Rash such as yours is normally caused by an imbalance of yeast in your body. Try changing your diet to include natural live yoghurt. cut out anything containing yeast or mould. the Yakult drinks etc should also help. give your new diet a few weeks to kick in and see if that helps.

omg, i would love to get a rash when i exercise, then i can say i am allergic to exercising and not have to do it anymore!!!
honestly, it sounds like a heat rash to me, if you are not embarrassed about it, have a word with the gym instructors there, im sure they will know what it is, if not just pop to the doctors.

You need not go any further. My ex-BF was just like you. Now he's all better and smells sweet as a babe.
