Pentagon says it will need more money than what the budget says. Faking numbers to look good in an election year aside, what are some good ideas that could help keep things running?

mindrizzle that's a really flawed assumption. how do you know people making over 100k can afford it? their credit to debt ratio might be horrible. more income usually means nicer cars, bigger house, more debt. not to mention that's not exactly fair.

this is a random off the top of my head suggestion but why not raise the cost of fines. like when someone gets a speeding ticket. where the original cost would have been $75, make it $100 and put the extra money in a war fund. it would probably keep speeding/traffic fatalities down as well.

i'd like to see some professional atheletes and hollywood actors take a pay cut. making $25 million per movie, or $30 million for a 6 year contract. a few million a year isn't good enough?

multi-billion dollar corporations and billionaires could make contributions as well. they don't need to spend $400 million on a new yacht. where the hell is oprah? she's so concerned about everyone's well-being, i think she should care about the 100k+ people that are fighting everyday.

better yet why not collect all the debts the other countries owe us. we bust our asses wasting our money on them, maybe it's time they pay us back. there was an analysis done, i forgot when, that said if we collected upon all of our debts, the national deficit would be well into the black and we would have plenty of money to clean up the mess bush made.

though i think none of my answers would be considered "feasible" by those on the giving end.

The army has asked for a whole lot of bank from Congress to keep operations going. American taxpayers are the one's who are going to be r***** up the *** without the courtesy of a reach-around.

My suggestion would to be to tax those who make over $100,000 a year in income for the money. They can afford it.

I'm sure those that make that much can ditch the SUV's and use the money they would have used on gas to fund the war.
