Both have advantages and disadvantages. Yoga is great for flexibility. Aerobics is good for the heart and lungs. Burns lots of calories too. If you are really out of shape, start slow on either and TRY not to over do it. Any exercise can do more harm than good if not built up to gradually. Check with a doctor before starting an exercise regime.

i would say Arobics and Pilates.
Pilates is similar to yoga, without you opening your mind to evil spirits and such. the meditation can open you up to things that you dont want in you. plus the pilates is more effective - its a little more active than some forms of yoga and you can start seeing results in about 3 weeks after starting.

Hi there,

A combination of both is what works best. 3 days a week yoga and 3 days a week aerobics. 30 minutes session is the ideal way to go about it.

Speaking of physical health, Aerobics is good. But Yoga tries to go to the body through the spirit, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. You want good health physically, then go for Aerobics.

Both have their own areas of impact . Yoga puts more emphasis on mind control whereas Aerobics on physical activity. Both are essential and they complement each other. Sound body has sound mind. Therefore, practice both for good health.

Doctors recommend aerobic exercises. This is exercise which gets you out of breath for 9 minutes or more. If yoga does this then you are OK. It;s all about your body learning to deal with activity and changing it's processes to cope with it.

i think it is yoga. if u want to reduce weight, aerobics and yoga, both will work, but eventually if u stop aerobics, u will again gain weight, and this time it will be harder to lose it. for general fitness yoga seems to be a better option since it benefits the whole body.

The effects of yoga and aerobics is proportionate to the enhusiasm of the proponents. No controlled studies were made.

Aerobics hands down. When you look at the history of yoga, what is its purpose? It is not fitness or exercise!
