Hi there,
Print Screen button is used for getting a picture of the desktop. After pressing print screen, open an image editor like microsoft paint in Accessories or any good word editor, for that matter and paste from the edit menu. The picture will be pasted on it.

When you press print screen, it doesn't actually print the screen, it actually copies all that is on your screen. Then you go to START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>PAINT and then EDIT and PASTE a snapshot of what was on your screen will show you can save it in any format available by clicking FILE>SAVE AS choose a name and under that in a drop down menu it will have .bmp which is bitmap format you can choose that or choose jpg, more acceptable format that is used in photos. Hope this helps.

On my computer (Dell with UK keyboard) I need to hold down the and keys together to capture the screen image.
The screen image is written to the clipboard.
You can then paste the clipboard () into an image viewing/editing program (I use Irfanview - free on the internet - google it) and from there you can save it as a gif or jpg file.
