Grate 1/2 teaspoon of fresh ginger and add to a teaspoon of honey with a squeeze of lemon, then top up mug with boiling water; drink as hot as possible. Works every time!
Prevention: keep up Vitamin C supplements.

I had a Turkish Cypriot colleague who used to go through a process where he dosed himself with endless cloves of garlic over a period of many hours. He swore that it worked (although apparently it made him belch horribly). His wife would only let him do it at weekends. Unless you can take time off work, it's not for you, as even if it cleared your cold by the weekend, you might end up socially dead!

There is a thing called first defence by vick which is about 7 pounds in most chemists like boots or superdrug if u live in the UK. Also try to take lots of vitamin c in tablets for example or orange juice, or oranges themselves which boost the immune system.

Take vitamin C to keep it from getting any worse or drink tons of Orange juice. Don't forget the tylenol either for the pain.

You can't stop a cold once it has started. You can do things to relieve the symptoms.
There are all sorts of combination medications you can take. Go to your chemist and ask the pharmacist there.
