My laptop is a Windows XP, but for some reason I don't have Word.
I have notepad and WordPad. >_>
I really need to do an assignment with 1 inch margins, and so forth.
Neither of these programs are too great.
I Googled Microsoft Word, and got a billion links.
Does anyone know where I could get this program, for free?

Download "Open Office".
Totally free, and totally compatible with all Microsoft Office documents.

Microsoft Word is a software included in the Microsoft Office Package, so you have to get the software and install it on your Laptop. You can either buy it or download it through torrents or download sites.

If you are after a small but simple word processor then I'd recommend Atlantis Nova (it's no longer supported but Wikipedia has this download link - small enough to keep on a USB stick)
