What's wrong with "hi"? It's honest, it's direct and it's a good ramp-up to "I noticed you when you were talking with your friends but I didn't want to intrude. You're really cute. How about you give me your number and I'll call you sometime when I'm not crowding your fun with them." Pick up lines are a crutch for nervous guys who want to put a girl off-ballance so they can get into conversation. If you can be honest and open with a girl you won't need to batter them with clever opennings and they'll respond well to you.
