I am not sure of the exact answer but in 1972 i was armed > without training > to set up a road block in Birmingham for an evening as a police officer
There were specialist police then who were trained in fire arms and security matters, but on this occassion rag tag and bob tail were issued with fire arms and sent out. I did not even knoew where thae safety catch was, and had I fired I would have done a lot of damage.
The weapon i was given was a sawn of shotgun > so I have no faith in ehat the government or police say about arming officers

Hey, I thought that they banned ALL guns in the UK and completely disarmed the country. I guess it was just a LIE that a country can be totally disarmed.

i think sometime in the eighties after that shoe bomb dude. but definately after 9/11.
