For example, people who oppose the war are told that they hate America, or that they're helping the terrorists win, or that they love Islam, in an attempt to stifle the free speech that they supposedly love so much. Surely criticising your government is the most pro-American thing to do, considering that it's a First Amendment right?
Obviously, I'm mostly referring to right-wing Americans, not all of them.

An interesting answer, Proud2B, but it makes some strange assumptions:
1. The preamble is highly vague, but your answer seems to suggest that it gives justification for war. Also, it has no true legal function. If they had wanted it to have a legal function, they would have given it one. Therefore, I can only conclude that the First Amendment is more important than the preamble, which only acts as a framing for the main document.
2. A person using their First Amendment rights will lead to erosion of the preamble, which will in turn lead to the erosion of the First Amendment. Do you really believe this to be true?
3. Your answer assumes that the only way to protect the preamble is to not use your First Amendment right. Have you considered that using your First Amendment right may in fact strengthen the preamble by establishing justice, promoting the general welfare and securing the blessings of liberty to ourselves?
