Is it because they are shy? do the same rules apply to young men being interested as with older men? im quite confident and friendly does this make them nervous/unsure?

Oh no, it isn't because they are shy. 18 year old boys(yes in their minds they are still boys) are ruled by raging hormones that have nothing to do with love and everything to do with lust. They do not feel the same way women do. Sex is all they are after not a meanful relationship, to them, a girlfriend is steady sex, not love. They wont chase you because they don't have to, they just take what comes their way that is acceptable to them. Sorry hun but 18 year old women should be aiming at the 25 year old age bracket, in my opinion. Just about the age where a guys hormones come under some kind of control but not always, it depends on what kinds of responsibilities they have undertaken. If he's still riding a bike or a skateboard then move on, save yourself the grief. If he has a car then he knows some responsibility. I hope I have helped.

Due to you typing a lot, I'm going to eliminate the idea that you are a troll because no troll put that's much time and effort into a question. If you want my opinion I'll give it to you. No, I don't think it's wrong and I think you're a respectable and kind individual. People forget that at 16/17 you actually are extremely mature for your age and know what you want. If she didn't want to be with you, she wouldn't choose to be as far as I see it. Age is an intresting thing, but if we change the goal posts around a little bit.. If she was 20 and you were 30, would people have the same opinions? No they wouldn't and to be honest not a lot changes between 17-20, well that was the case for me at least. I respect you for being brave enough to do something like this, and treating a girl so well. We need more men in the world like you, and due to your past experience of being with older women it's clear you're not just after a young woman (She's no longer a minor anymore people, get with it). If you love her, and she loves you. What the hell does age have to do with anything? People argue that "She was playing with barbies 5 years ago" when really, that's irrelevant. Age means nothing in terms of love.

I'm 22 and I still fins myself quite shy around women. At 18 they will be askin you out becasue they want to get in your pants at some point in time. The ones that are too shy are the same way, but not as bad.
You kind of lose either way. Unfortunatly thats how we are. At the end of the day thats what we are thinking. Sorry.
There are some of us out there that do enjoy just being with a womans company. I say that if they are too shy then you go and ask the question. To some guys that's even a turn on.

Welcome to being 18, now you probably understand why girl's like older men. Don't worry, in a couple of years these boys will be 25 and they'll start to realize that you can't more cavewomen with a club and a blushing smile.

guys are always not sure that a girl likes him.they are not confident like girls are . well ... atleast I am like that. be friendly to then and tey will be your frien and if u propose them then they will say "hell yeah!!!!"
