I don't normally respond to questions addressed to other faiths, but I'm making an exception on this occasion because I think the question is relevant to all of us, even us agnostics get asked questions aimed at riling them.
I think there are several kinds of questions asked here, and I think the majority would fit into the following 4 types, and I've illustrated with real life examples from recent questions:
1. questions in which someone wants information about something: e.g.
Why does the bible condemn fortune telling?
2. Opinion poll type questions: e.g.
Christians - what are your thoughts on this Bible trivia?
3. Questions aimed at provoking thought and questioning of assumptions: e.g.
Ok were did god come from?
4. Gratuitously offensive, abusive questions: e.g.
Does God talk through science so stupid, cynical people can understand?
In my experience, many Muslims (and quite a few people of other faiths) are not very good at distinguishing between types 3 and 4. I think it's legitimate for people to completely ignore type 4 questions, but the danger in people doing so is that they will also ignore many type 3 questions, and the purpose of this system (to educate and learn) will be degraded.
There actually aren't that many type 4 questions asked here, I had to scroll through 3 or 4 pages of questions just to find the above example, which is not a really bad one.
My advice is to just stick to the questions that interest you, and to which you think you have a good answer. Don't get too upset about idiots, and don't assume all negative questions are without merit.

Asalam Alaikum
I would not answer them and report them anytime you see them. I report any question that is insulting and or rude to any religion. Don't give them to much time as they are not looking for the truth and most likely won't read what you posted anyways. They are not looking for an answer but for those who agree with them and will help them insult the religion more. If you feel you must answer then make sure you are kind and don't stoop to their level. They will stand before God and will answer for every word they uttered against Him and Islam.
And Ramadan Mubark to you dear brother in Islam. May he reward you and give you many blessing thit holy month. Ameen

Assalamu alaikum brother,
Personally I ignore them, however when I think I need to correct the facts presented (most of the time they misquote Quran purposely) then I answer them. Because if we don't correct the facts many people who do not know Islam might believe this people.
Ramadhan Mubarak!

I have been ignoring them for some time now. Many of these questioners know the truth about Islam.
Ramadhan Mubarak to you and you family as well. May your fast and prayers be accepted.

If you think you have a need to support terrorist and uncivilized behaviour, then you probably should ignore questions about Islams and Muslims.
Repeating lies is wearing thin with the rest of the world. If Muslims are fair and peace loving, as a whole, then AS A WHOLE they ought to rein in the fanatics. PUBLICLY criticize the clerics who are spreading evil and hate. Find the terrorists and use your Muslim ways to punish them.
I believe the countries that support terrorism, terrorists and the spread of Islam through those means would destroy the West in a second, IF they were able. You're lucky you're dealing with more civilized nations, who actually do have the power to reduce every Muslim city and most of the countrysides in those countries to cinders in one afternoon.
The civilized world attempts to punish the Christian fanatics who kill and mame, and we don't make too many excuses for them

Ramadhan Mubarak brother and to all Muslims.
Great question, I was wondering the same myself. If WE all ignore them, they might stop posting such questions. I said might. At the same time, it is our duty to explain to them even if they meant to insult. If Juses Christ said "Turn the other cheek" then they should know that we have the power to control out temper. They all think that we are easily provoked and attack our attackers back.
In general, I cannot turn a blind eye when someone is mocking my religion.

i dont know about others, but i answer those questions with maximum respect and humbleness -- however demeaning they are to Islam. for Allah has said to Endure and i will be patient and tolerant -- and i am sure God will be pleased with it.
people will always insult and degrade others due to their own insecurities.such insecurities come out in form of insults -- speech or action. we shouldnt judge or reply back to such people in the same manner. it is always better to leave them to God. each one of us has to answer to our God on Day of Judgement.
FORGIVE AND FORGET those who hurt u and move on with ur lives. that is the best way to do it.

Good idea, Mustafa. There is no point in arguing Values. People just don't listen. Now that we are in Ramadan, it is a good idea to ignore these folks altogether so that you don't break your fast with strong emotions. Even though I do not share your religious beliefs, we can still be friends. Inshallah.

I try to be polite but let them know they need to gain knowledge.. i know it does no good, but at least i feel a little better by letting them know how wrong they are...I try not fuel their stupidity either ... i am just trying to be good person and be successful in this Holy month of Ramadan....

You are Right, but I can't stop myself to reply **** by **** , Although I'm not young in age & I have a delicate education but because i have to work with such people , I guess i know how to hirt them .
I think it is not written that we still take spills , let 95% of us ignore them , and 5% answer them the way they deserve & like .
