Well the fact that you are shy may make them think that you are not interested in them in a different way (but just a friend).
I think that you should begin moving a little bit. Why don't you just propose to go out any night, ...just like friends you know...
Go dancing, or have a coffee, or go out for dinner and then when you really have a good chat you can take out your inner "secrets". So tell him that sometimes you feel bored, or lonely or that you miss being in love...things like that, but don't be direct, just try making it sound more like a friendly confession, than like a real trick...
I think he will get the point and will start thinking about it and seeing you in a different manner.
If this doesn't happen at once, try it again. Don't be too shy. What happened in the past belongs to the past, try looking forward and don't make the same mistakes again so that you don't get hurt.

Best of luck!

Try changing your look a little bit. Maybe a new hair style or a change of makeup, different perfume. Something along those lines. Different style of clothes too just without looking like you're gagging for it, so not a tiny skirt and revealing top! A little change might prompt them to see you in a different way as they've probably just got used to you being one of the lads/ their mate.

I truly have Asperger's Syndrome and that i'm a loner. you need to be proud that you're a loner because my observations tell me that being reclusive and reserved is oftentimes a demonstration of higher intelligence compared to human beings. in accordance to at least one study that I once study, eastern babies who've Williams syndrome are completely better reserved than American babies who've Williams Syndrome. In different words, the sociability ratings of prevalent American childrens (by their father and mom) changed into about the same as eastern Williams syndrome childrens, whose social habit, I could communicate about, may be considered out of bounds in Japan. that is obviously glaring that Japan is an exceedingly smart and economically valuable u . s ., which leads me to trust that the better smart someone is, the better reclusive and distanced that man or woman will be in society. you need to be pleased with being reclusive. because once you're not any further socializing or interacting with human beings, you've better accessible time on your existence to study and enhance your intelligence. *Williams Syndrome is a uncommon developmental disease characterised by a particular, "elfin" facial visual attraction, alongside with a low nasal bridge, an surprisingly pleased demeanor and simplicity with strangers; developmental postpone coupled with reliable language skills; and cardiovascular complications, which includes supravalvular aortic stenosis and temporary hypercalcaemia.

Love is the answer to everything. All you ever need is love,
communication and understanding. That's what I figured out so
far. If you are down, you need to get up and start doing something with
your life. Don't need to be shy, be straight forward and allways say what
you want and expect from the others.

sometimes one can not see the forest for the trees. The guys around you have gotten used to you being more or less one of them. Travel outside your current circle of coworkers and friends. Others may see you differently.

Wear feminine clothes and act like a girl instead of trying to be "one of the guys."
