It is true that there are christians who shove stuff down your throat, yell and get angry, make mistakes, act aggressive, sin, contradict themselves, say stupid stuff, don't have all the answers alone. I agree. Often I don't make the best decisions and I am a Christian. Unfortunately, we are the only thing people see of God. Therefore, people judge God according to what we do. Is that right? Should you be judged because of me? Then why judge God because of Christians? That is why some people are so good because they do not want to give people reasons why to hate God. Everyone comes on here and barks back and forth. I see it come from every direction including christian, atheists, muslims, etc... So why do so many people always think their opinioin is right? Because nobody is perfect. Either that or people just like to make jokes and get a rise out of people. The real thing that sucks the most, is that you can not reply to peoples comments. The advantage=leaving the comments.

Its nice you want to be a good example, but you're giving yourself a little too much credit. Your behavior will never reflect on God. Bad Christians don't make a bad example for God, just Christianity. In most cases just their denomination of Christianity but since we don't know everybody's denomination here it just looks bad for Christians in general. Nobody expects Christians to be perfect or even nice for that matter, especially not atheists. If all Christians were nice the way some already are, it would only make them more well-liked but it wouldn't make people believe in God or follow Jesus.

Peoples flaws are not a by-product of their religion. A selfish person who is a Christian is still a selfish person, and he would be that without his religion. The Christians who feel like theyre better than everyone would feel that way anyway. It is unfair to judge any body of people (or nation) by the actions of any number of them, unless its all of them. However, people arent going to stop. Because of the reasons you mentioned and many more.
I dont understand some peoples problems. I believe what I believe, I have no need to cram it down someones throat (I will be more than happy to discuss what I believe in educated discouse, and I will be happy to tell you why I dont believe what you believe in the same manner, Ive sent preachers away questioning thier faith after decent discussions).

You should judge God for what God has done. Like killing little children.
If a Christian says they do one thing then they do the oppsite they are a lier.
"Should you be judged because of me?"
If we were in the same orginization then yes, one bad apple spoiles the bunch. If you do not make an attempt to keep your group in order then you are part of the problem.
When I see atheists making slanderous comments out of spite I try to correct them. If what they say is true then I let it go. Even if I don't like it.

Since God is not directly available to be judged, we have only his followers to measure him by. From his followers I learn that the Biblegod is a spiteful, unjust, egomaniacal tyrant who cares more about obedience than quality of character or morality.
Someone once said that an ideal can best be measured in the quality of its followers. With followers like Robertson, Hinn, Falwell, Graham, Swaggart, Bakker, Popoff, and the like, one doesn't need to look very hard for the flaws.

christians are also human beings who have a lot of imperfections and who also commits mistakes. our love for God is not based on christians because salvation is personal. we don't get saved because we want to be like the other person but we believed that Jesus died for our sins and paid for it by dying on the cross.

A double standard has been created because of people's expectations of what Christianity is rather than studying the source of Christianity.
Christians are imperfect, many have not studied the source for themselves, still others are brand new and excited about their discovery and want to share it with everyone they know.
The worst part is the false expectations of Christianity, like quoting something they've never read in the Bible to a Christian. ie., Jesus said don't judge people. Well, yes He did, but have you read the entire verse and chapter to understand the context in which He made this statement? Why would He say in another verse that we should judge with righteous judgment? Is He contradicting Himself? Not at all, but how would you know that unless you study the Bible.
The responsibility of Christians is to study the Bible and apply it to our lives. It is not our responsibility to try to live up to unbelievers' understanding of scriptures they've never read or if they have read, never applied to their own lives.
As Christians learn and grow in their understanding and application of the scriptures to their lives, you will see more of the character of God on them, but everyone should understand that we are human and fallible. We have to mature in understanding and application of the truths we learn in scripture.
Unfortunately, most Americans have never had their faith tested in the Biblical sense, and so do not take the commands and guidance of the Bible seriously. Whole churches are renouncing the clear doctrines of Christian faith as laid out in the Bible. What's more, non believers are claiming Christianity to gain the benefits of the Christian reputation. Because of the dedication and instruction of moral standards of behavior a Christian is often considered to be more likely to be honest and fair. Because of the slander against Christian behavior and because of the false claims of Christianity, and because of the actions of immature Christians that have no desire or drive to seek and apply the lessons of the Bible, the Christian reputation is being devolved.
Thank God, our salvation is not dependent on our reputation, but on the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. I am one who does believe our salvation is dependent upon our behavior. This is unpopular among many church groups but scriptures plainly state a consequence of ungodly behavior can result in sickness, death, and even being blotted out of the Book of Life. We are held responsible for what we know. We know that we should study to show ourselves approved. In studying we will gain more knowledge to be held responsible for. It sounds ominous, and so it should, but simply opening the book and asking God for guidance will result in greater understanding and greater ability to live up to the edicts in the Bible.
