each child grows differently.
i have 3 girls ages 4,5, and 7. my 7 year old is really tall and thin so she wears the normal size for her age
my younger ones are another story. my 5 year old can sometimes still fit into 3T stuff and my 4 year old ( who was born 7 weeks early and wighed in at 4 lbs) can still fit into size 24 months!! they're pediatrician says they are perfectly healthy little girls and trust me-they are!! i can bearly keep up with them
as long as your daughter is healthy and eating good-she's just fine. genetics has alot to do with size as well so if you're petite-expect your little one to be as well...
no worries here mom-you've just got a little peanut-which isn't all that bad-she won't outgrow her clothes as quickly : )

That is totally normal. I have a four year old that can wear her sisters 18 month shorts! All manufacturers make their clothes different. My 18 month old can still wear her 12 month shirts and some pants depending on the length.

For my daughter it was. My daughter is 2 now, she's in 24 month shirts (some 18 month if they are larger), and pants are hard to fit. The 12 months fit her better around her waist, but now they are too short on her. The 18 month pants fit better lengthwise, but it's been hard finding ones that are not too loose around her waist. My daughter still fit into some 12 month shorts this past summer. Your daughter sounds normal, I have heard that often about kids. And she sounds just like mine.

Children's clothing sizes are AWEFUL! And to complicate matters: different brands/companies size their things differently.
My daughter [18 months] also wears smaller pants sizes. The legs are just too long on the older clothes. Thats the real problem with pants. A suggestion: If you want to buy her bigger sized pants, you could try hemming them up until she gets a bit taller. I've done that before. Its a bit of work, but really helped.

Yes its absolutely normal! You must also remember clothes aren't always made exactly right sizes either. My little girl takes a size 6-7 yo pants and a 7-8 yo top and its almost always been that way.

Look at her and see for yourself if it fits right. My child is 3 and wears a 4T and i get her coats in a 5T, cus she's a little bit bigger than most 3 year olds so it depends on the size of your child. Its a good idea to get their clothes in a few sizes bigger cus they grow so fast.

Yeah, I think that's pretty normal. My son's top is always one size larger than his pants.
