what steps do i need to take, i have thought over my career choice for the past 3 years, (am now turning 18 and will be starting college soon)

Well first you have to be a cop for a LONG time, then be selected for your ability. You gotta long way to go. And if youre gonna be a cop, dont be a sorry @$$ dirty cop, do your job to help people not abuse them. More often than not people become cops so they can hide behind a badge. I hate cops, and Ill stop a crime in progress myself if need be, I dont need a badge to hide behind. Yes ive been stabbed, shot at, and taken guns from people.

First thing you have to do is enrol in some sort of criminal justice program in college. Then it is a matter of getting your degree with an emphasis on investigation and taking your local state Private Investigator exam. If you pass that then you will be a registered PI, and you can get a job as a detective with an agency, or you can try to get a job working for local law enforcement.

GEt your degree and join the force your going to start at the bottom though start working on your powers of observation i used to be really good at it but not anymore good luck

Take psychology classes, along with your criminal justice. Any more than that your college adviser should be able to help direct you through the correct classes

become a cop and test well and get atleast a bachelors degree oin something, maybe more. or become a private detective from some mail order diploma factory and try to con cashiers ito selling you beer. jerk.
