Dry cereal and milk works nicely. Go easy on the sweeteners, and use 2% milk if you are counting calories.

You can also add a fruit, either an apple or a banana (or a citrus fruit such as orange or grapefruit.)

I like coffee, but you could substitute tea, including an herbal tea, if you wish.

If you like a hot breakfast you could poach an egg and eat it on toast with cheese.

A good breakfast means a good day.

This is an easy way to prepare a gourmet breakfast.

Poached Eggs w/ Lemon Butter Chive Sauce

4 eggs
1 tablespoon vinegar
1/3 cup butter
2 tablespoons finely chopped chives
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 English muffins, halved and toasted

Poach eggs for 3 to 4 minutes in simmering water to which the vinegar has been added.

For the sauce, melt the butter in a small saucepan, add the chives, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and beat thoroughly.

When the eggs are just set, remove them from the pan with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

To serve, place poached egg on a toasted English muffin half and pour sauce over top.

It really depends on what you are going to do right after breakfast. If you are working out at the gym or doing any type of phisical activity, then you should stock up with fruit and bread (because you will need lots of sugar to burn). If you are going to the office and sit in front of a computer for many hours, then you should have low GI food such as porridge or yogurt and cereals, some types of fruit, wholemeal bread). Try to avoid processed food ALWAYS. Make your own yogurt (most of what you can find in supermarkets has fattening sweeteners and addictives). In winter, make your own oj.
