The eye of the needle was a place not a thing. On the trade route there was a cavern so narrow that a camel had to be unpacked to get through and be repacked on the other side. The object of the bible passage is that you cant take it with you but when you get to the side you'll have a reward.

it has the actual size, but I forgot. It is big enough a real camel can crawl through it on his knees.
.The eye of the needle was a hole in the wall. a man can go through it. BUT...the only way a camel could go through it was...to get on it's knees.
the same way a Rich man has got to do. get on his knees.

The eye of a needle does not refer to a sewing needle. It refers to the opening in the wall of a City. It was the means of entry to a Walled City after they had closed the Gates for the night. The entry was very narrow and had a number of right angled turns in it so that an enemy could not gain entry. Only one person at a time could fit in the space.

It doesn't really matter - definitely not big enough for a camel to get through it -
The verse is a comparison - CAN a camel fit throught the eye of a needle? Of course not......
Therefore the statement means that a rich man can NOT get into Heaven.....

The Eye of the Needle was a narrow alleyway in the city, meant for human pedestrians only. So it was hard to squeeze a camel through it, and impossible if it was laden. That is why it is compared to the rich man getting into the kingdom of heaven, he must first get rid of all his property and posessions, then he might manage to squeeze in.

the phrase ‘eye of the needle’ was the label given to a small entrance in the city wall which was used by travellers when the city gates had been shut at night for security. Although the hole was just large enough for one man to squeeze himself through, he was forced to leave his animal outside along with all his baggage because it was impossible that they could be fit through such a small opening.

A rich man would have a needle with an eye slightly larger than a camel.

I think the Eye of the Needle was the name of a real gateway in a real city in the Holylands so this was one of many misinterpreations from tne New Testament.

It was the nickname given to the narrow slit or pedestrian gate in the walls of a city or into the old part of a city. It was just about wide enough for someone of average build to pass through.

Just big enough for lean mind to enter. A fatter mind which has to many concerns of worldly possession can't penetrate. Need to reduce that weight.
