Pasta Bake
I've been making this since my boys could eat solids! and it's still a favourite. Add carrot, celary, bell pepper if you wish, or tinned tomatoes in place of all or some of the soup. I really just make it with what I have or need to use. I also love the custard on mashed potatoes or pumpkin baked in the oven.
250 g pasta, penne or shells etc,cooked
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
500 g beef mince
1/2 cup red wine (or broth)
1 cup beef broth
140 g tomato paste
1 (400 ml) can tomato soup
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
Topping
1 cup cream
2 eggs
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
2 slices bacon, chopped
Heat the oil in a large frypan over medium heat.
Fry the onion until golden and tender.
Add the garlic and cook a couple of minutes more.
Add the beef and cook, breaking up the lumps with a fork, until all the meat has changed colour.
Add remaining sauce ingredients, stir well.
Simmer for about 30 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
Mix in cooked pasta and pour into a 2 litre casserole.
Topping: Whisk together the cream and egg, and season to taste.
Pour gently over the meat/pasta mix.
Sprinkle over cheese, scatter this with the bacon.
Cook in a moderate oven (190c) until custard is set and golden.
about 30 minutes.

HI m8, there are loads of recipe's for pasta bake and it depends on what you like in it !. Try a sI'mple one first as im assuming you don't really cook. Buy a pack of fresh pasta from the supermarket pick up a jar of sauce for pasta, loads of varieties, choose the meat you prefer, ie, mince, chicken, tuna etc. Quickly cook off the meat and maybe some diced onions, add the sauce, then the pasta and add seasoning and mixed herbs if you have it. Place in a casserole dish and bake in the oven. Just before completion add lots of grated cheese to the top of you pasta and serve with garlic bread............enjoy, hope it helps you m8.

A tasty and simple pasta dish (which I'm planning to make tonight!).
Fry 1 finely chopped onion and a couple of cloves of garlic, gently until they are translucent. You can add some mushrooms at this stage if you want.
Add mince (or I use veggie mince) - or whatever equivalent you want - and cook for a few mins.
Add one bottle of pasta sauce (I like Lloyd Grossman's stuff) and enough water to make it nice and juicy. Cook for about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile cook pasta and drain.
Put pasta and sauce in an oven proof dish.
Cut up some cheese into large-ish chunks and add this.
Cook at a medium heat for about 30 minutes.
Serve with fresh, green salad and garlic bread.
Enjoy!

You can use any sauces in a pasta bake, it is more or less like lasagne but easier. Instead of having the strips of lasagne use cooked penne or another small shape. Cook your sauces, say cheese and bolognese mix them all together with the pasta put grated cheese on top and bake in a hot oven for 20 to 30 mins until the cheese is brown.

You need to go ahead and cook the pasta first then drain it. I like to use rotini. You can also use a jar red sauce ( I like Barilla 3 cheese) and it will go a lot quicker.I've also added cooked ground turkey to it thats been seasoned with Italian herbs and fennel(anise) seeds if you have them. You basically layer all of this in a casserole dish. Pasta first then sauce then a mixture of Italian cheeses like mozzarella, fontina parmesean( although you could probably use cheddar( but not with red sauce, yuck lol)Continue layering all the ingredients and finish with more sauce and cheese. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until bubby and slightly brown on top. I like to finish mine with on top with an x virg green olive oil mixture combined with Italian breadcrumbs added the last 15 minutes beofre it's finished cooking. Oh Oh, now I'm hungry!
