ive found that when people are that close if you just rest your left foot on the brake pedal, the lights come on, without the brakes coming on! it works a treat!

Ive a good moan. These people going to try and overturn the law on speed cameras in the European court today. speed kills and I know about that. Many other people have had children killed by speeding cars and to try and make it illegal to be caught on camera is madness. After being caught speeding there should be an on the spot fine or else your car is taken and only released when the driver attends an speed awareness course. If this fails, the car should BE CRUSHED, no matter what type of car it is. Time off the road and the threat of crushing should stop speeding a bit and thus save lives.

Tailgating is probabaly one of the worst offences on the road yet so little is done about it.
There should be a gadget fitted to cars that worked like the parking gadgets throwing out a beam that bounces back and tells it of the distance between you and an object in front only instead of beeping it would cut down the speed to something below that of the car infront.
The offence comes under driving with out due care and attention but I think it should be an offence on its own and an automatic ban

We live in the city and believe me if you leave the 2 second gap another car will cut you up to squeeze in it. The number of cars that cut you up are on the increase and i believe that there is is scam going about to make money from other peoples insurance companies. I hadn't realised that if you go into the back of anyone it's automatically your fault, even if they've cut you up! We drove through a rough part of the city just yesterday and my husband let another car through and instead of saying thank you he stuck his 2 fingers up. It seems like it's survival of the fittest. Whenever possible i use the bus.

Ignorance and not paying attention to the road gets me mad. Regarding your situation, it's known as following too closely in legal terms. (Tailgating in laymans terms.) Ever notice there's never a cop around when you need one? I think that if you get caught on the phone more than twice while driving, the courts should take either the phone or the license!

What makes me mad is when lanes merge, and traffic is backed up for a mile and a half in stop and go, and some jerk drives in the lane that's ending all the way up to the front, then pulls in ahead of a semi, causing him to slam on his brakes.
Guess what? I complained, and it's not illegal. Rude, but not illegal to not wait your turn, drive all the way past everyone who's been waiting, and fail to merge until the last minute.
Argggh!

When driving on the motorway those people who are so self righteous about their driving, IE sticking exactly to the speed limit and won't let anyone past because they think they have the moral upper hand.
Pull over to the left hand lane as per highway code and don't hog the overtaking lanes.

yeah it sucks - other peoples bad driving and road courtesy
however i was being glowered at and verbally abused by a taxi driver the other day - just cause he couldn't wait 10 seconds to turn into his driveway (i was stuck in a traffic light queue)
my best remedy is to blow them a kiss - it really confuses the hell out of them when they try to be mad at you - works every time. He broke into a smile cause i didn't retaliate x

Tailgating is more dangerous than speeding and yet nothing is done about it! I hate getting close to the car in front and if anyone does it to me they get told to pull back if its safe to do so!
I also hate those who don't indicate, I am not psychic!

I don't get it either, some idiots sit on your bumper and they have no chance of stopping without hitting you if you have to brake hard.
I think drivers like that are just brain dead and if it were up to me they would be banned from driving, after all it is dangerous driving.
