Quickest Way To Cook Salmon

2016-11-04 12:57:49 · answer #2 · answered by hultman 4 · 0 0

wash and scale the salmon (works best with a salmon steak), get a big piece of foil, place the salmon in the middle, put salt, black pepper, parsley, a bay leaf and some lemon on both sides. Chuck in some whole small mushrooms and fold up the sides of the foil to make a 'parcel'. Add a little bit of wine or water, and stick in the oven. Its easy and it is quick and tastes nice.

Quicker than that is season the salmon and grill on a griddle.

Good luck xxx

Fastest way to cook salmon is to throw it on an open barbecue. Nothing like fish with a bit of smokey taste.

For something more elaborate I prefer this one:
Roast salmon with red pesto and basil and lime tzatziki dressing

Ingredients
2.3kg whole salmon, filleted
5 tbsp red pesto
2 tbsp basil, finely shredded
5 tbsp each white wine and water
1 tbsp olive oil

For the lime tzatziki:
450g/1lb Greek yoghurt
1 cucumber, halved, de-seeded and coarsely grated
grated zest of 2 limes
1 large clove of garlic, crushed
1 bunch of spring onions, finely sliced
a pinch of chilli powder

To decorate:
sprigs of fresh basil

Preparing ahead:
Prepare and cook the salmon, chill.
One hour before: make the tzatziki, chill.
Last minute: decorate the salmon and serve.

Buy some salmon fillets (preferably wild as opposed to farmed, approx 2 inches thick), add a bit of extra virgin olive oil to both sides of the salmon and either pan fry, or throw it on the grill for about 3 mins each side to have a nice medium, juicy piece of salmon.

Add a little black pepper or salt - and voila! Delicious.

I season with kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper. then get a skillet hot over med-high heat and add some olive oil. let the oil heat and add the fish skin side down and let it cook for about 3 to 4 minutes. I cook it most of the way through on one side then flip it over. usually you only need a minute or two on the other side, just enough to give the flesh a nice crisp sear. then let it rest and serve. lemon is great as well as a dill, caper and cream sauce. you can also serve with roasted fennel.

Wrap it in tinfoil with some dill and lemon in the cavity (I assume we're talking about a whole fish) and bake it in the oven with a little seasoning. That way you lose none of the goodness or moisture. But then again, I always eat salmon raw...

The " quickest " is to microwave or poach in a little boiled water. A better way is to season and add lemon, wrap in foil and bake in the oven. If you have time, brush with a little oil mixed with lemon & lime juice then wrap in filo pastry, repeat the process until its well wrapped & oiled. Cook in a medium oven until the pastry in golden in colour.......
