Yes you are talking about Global Warming.
The increased amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (GHGs) are the primary causes of the human-induced component of warming. They are released by the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing and agriculture, etc. and lead to an increase in the greenhouse effect.
There are five categories of actions that can be taken to mitigate global warming:
1. Reduction of energy use (conservation)
2. Shifting from carbon-based fossil fuels to alternative energy sources
3. Carbon capture and storage
4. Carbon sequestration
5. Planetary engineering to cool the earth
So where do you want to start now ?

U r discussing here "global warming effects" and u wish to know how to solve this riddle.
One way is to reduce the carbon emissions. The world has started doing this already but slowly. Kyoto protocol has allowed the developed economies and companies to pay entities in underdeveloped and developing economies, who will undertake to reduce the carbon emissions on their behalf. The mechanism has started working in a slow but sure way. Popularly this is known as "Carbon credits."
But there must be an educative campaign all over world about global warming and it's effects. People should be educated about the ways to contain the warming, too.
All this requires sustain efforts by all the people all over world but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an all encompassing campaign taking shape.

Well, it is my understanding that this appears to be part of a natural cycle of the earth which will make it colder up in the northern US and hotter in the south.. so I guess I would migrate south.
...I already live in Georgia so I would probably insulate my home and get a good air conditioner and sunscreen.
..as for prevention, I doubt there is much that can be done.

KYOTO norms are made for that purpose. Did you not hear what bush said about it?? It is shocking! Like usual with that weener. Every one is in, except US. And who decided that for all the people on that continent?
If I were a US citizen, I would revolt even more, and not be able to be a proud citizen. It is a shame what he is doing to 'his people'.
