I have white cabinets, dark black/brown speckled granite countertop, and black appliances with pergo flooring. Right now the walls are yucky dark green.

To bring in something that reduces the stark contrast of the dark colors and white, you may consider using a bright color (e.g. a deeper shade of crimson orange). This ties in the light and dark colors, in the mean time drawing attention to the paint rather than the upper and lower parts of the kitchen. The paint also becomes a middle tone (that is in between) serving to establish some form of visual equilibrium in the room.

Another important point to note is lighting. Lighting can offer great ambience to the room, besides paint alone. Dark paint colors can look drabby and dingy under poor light, but look dramatic and impressive under bright and crsip halogen lighting.

Black and white kitchens are no longer the "in" thing. Most people want the kitchens done in earth tones [brown, beige, tan, orange]. I have a my kitchen walls done in a orange color [called "earth tone" at home depot] and the cupboard doors and trim are done in a cream color [called "clamshell" at home depot]. I also have the black/brown speckled granite counter tops and it looks great with the colors. Good luck.

an important tip to save in ideas is that cool colors like blues, vegetables and purples push the walls out. warmth colors carry the walls in. If the cabinets are in reliable structure, i'd go away them on my own. If no longer, best and paint them a shade of the wall shade you opt for. for instance, in case you commit to color the walls a eco-friendly, paint the cabinets a darker sleek eco-friendly. this would sound straightforward, yet you should photo the room as an entire. you could finally end up identifying on a shade for the cabinets that you don't like in any respect on its own, yet as an entire room that is going to look fantasatic! it truly is mandatory allow the interest to bypass continuously throuhout a small room. once you've a good number of colors in starking comparison, the interest receives perplexed and stop at one and all which will in turn make the room experience smaller. replace cupboard hardware to operate interest. you'll locate better concepts and help with shade right here.

Go with some earth tones. Light browns and reds, and mild orange. Don't do the whole room one color, break it up and have either one or two accent walls of a complimenting color.
