Wow, that sounds really nice!
Our prices in Salt Lake City are still sky high. I paid $2.98 for the step just above regular unleaded last week, and I noticed yesterday that at the same station prices have just come down 3 cents in the last week. The day I filled up, it was $2.88, $2.98, $3.08, and $3.18 for the four grades of unleaded. I usually put in a bit better quality of gas because my truck runs better, but with a nearly 30 gallon tank, I just cannot afford the premium stuff right now.
The most annoying thing about it is that it has been featured on the local nightly news regularly or the last 3 or 4 weeks. The news outlets are trying to find out why we have the highest gas prices in the West, and the people who distribute here keep saying that the "demand stays high", which I think is their attempt so say, "we have you over the barrel, so we'll charge what we darn well please."

Last week I paid $2.17 a gallon for 87 octane at Cost Co. Location: Greensboro, NC. Other stations were averaging $2.19

I live in Iowa, and we are at $2.19 a gallon for unleaded and probably still falling. You are at $2.74? Has it dropped recently? Peace.
