Exactly who is the one doing the holding?
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for unless there come a revolt first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and is lifted up above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as if he were God.
2Th 2:5 Remember you not that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2Th 2:6 And now you know what withholdeth, that he may be revealed in his time.
2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity already worketh: only that he who now holdeth do hold, until he be taken out of the way.

Actually there are two because by themselves you could interpret them fine, but together they contradict.
Ecc 1:4[One] generation passeth away, and [another] generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
Mat 24:35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
I have had Christians tell me that I am taking it out of context because one verse is talking about the "old earth" and the other verse is talking about the "new earth", but then I go with them and put it into context, this is where we find that both are speaking of the "old earth". It's an odd one that for sure. This is my favorite contraction, and I wasn't even looking for it.
Here is another good one, and one reason I don't like Paul. (Though I guess it doesn't matter that much because I am not a Christian.)
Eph 3:1¶For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
These seems innocent enough until you add what Jesus says:
Jhn 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
So if Jesus is the Truth and the Truth sets you free how can you be a prisoner to Jesus?
And wait, here is one more:
Pro 23:23Buy the truth, and sell [it] not; [also] wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
How do you buy something that is not for sell? (You will also note that this verse bears the "mark of the beast" "666". 3 divided by 2 equals .66666 {to the infinity}. Odd? )

If you just sit and read the Bible, then most of it is hard to interpret. The only way to understand what God has to say to us is to have a Companion Bible and a Concordance that contains a breakdown of the original Hebrew and Greek languages in which it was written. After some study you begin to see that much of what we are taught based solely from just the Bible is just a bunch of nonsense. Its not about the obvious sins that mankind commits on a daily basis, but it about God's overall plan and the war that wages with Satan and how God is going to bring him down and what role we play in that.

While I have done some research about it and have found some semi-satisfying discussions, I am still baffled by Jesus' withering the fig tree. I don't know what it means. I have heard some interpretations of it that sound plausible but that ultimately don't entirely satisfy me. I am still searching for an "aha" interpretation of that moment in Jesus' life.

John 11:35: Jesus wept. I never could understand this verse that depicts a crybaby Jesus. It makes Jesus look like an emo.

That God really is not a man - he is both feminine and male energy.
