How about right now in Palestine? The Israelis are practicing genocide against the Palestinians because they want the "holy land" all to themselves.
Oh wait, that's right we don't talk about the bad things Israel does because they are "good" people. This is why a lot of people don't know about the Israelis contaminating the Palestinians water aquifer with their waste products.

King Phillips War in New England during the 1600's. Same principle you espoused there but earlier. This war wiped out most of the native New England Indian population and over a quarter of the Colonial population. Technically by sheer numbers killed vs population, this was the most destructive war on American soil.

A lot of people have done a lot of things in the name of Christ. You have to ask "are they following Christs words when they did these things"? If not then maybe they were not true believers. The Puritans and the Pilgrims certainly didn't do that. They got along well with the indians. About 86% of the people in this country say they are christians. Only a much lesser percentage of those are true believers. People say "I live in a christian nation, that makes me a christian". No it doesn't. They say "my father or my grandfather was a christian, that makes me a christian". God has no grandchildren. Jesus said "deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me". Jesus said to love God with all your heart, soul, mind will and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. There's a bumper sticker that says "christians aren't perfect, just forgiven". That's true. We're human like everybody else and we don't always act the way we're supposed to but if you're out there maiming and killing people, I'd say you better question whether you are a true believer before it's too late.

Every instance of war and Genocide has been the responsibility of one Religion or another. Death in any Gods name is always the case when manipulating a population to commit mass murder. Strange that a Entity's that are supposed bring peace and harmony to the world through their God ( in the name of God ), are always the propaganda and death mongers.

The Holocaust. I'm making no claims as to Hitler's religious views, but he did write that he was doing God's work by killing the Jews, and the Catholic Church turned a blind eye to it.
Also, the Inquisition. When someone was found guilty of heresy, (and most of them were found guilty) the inquisitors confiscated all their property. The Jewish business owners that refused to convert ended up losing all their money and property to the Church.

Did you know that the Bible actually speaks about how Christians should love all people, and that those who killed Indians took the words of the Bible out of context and purposfully looked for loopholes to do what they did.
Did you know that it was also Christians who said the Indians should be treated humanely and not as less than human? But it was the Darwinists who said that they were lower on the evolutionary scale than whites?
As for the answer to your quesiton...
Islam is a great example of a religion used to justify genocide in the name of greed, the example was set by its founder, and has continued ever since, and unlike Christianity, Islam actually teaches its followers to do that.
