Of course FRYING it will be fattening...But there won't be much harm if you limit HOW MUCH fried foods you eat....Of course, frying ANYTHING will be fattening.

I don't know where people get this stupid idea that eating fried fish will be healthy and won't be fattening cause, you know, IT'S FISH....as if it the healthiness of the fish magically cancels out the effects of the breading and oil. Carrots are healthy and non-fattening, for example, but if you FRY them...you get the idea...anyways....

Catfish is pretty lean BY ITSELF....IMO though, I'd rather fill up on salmon, it's much more nutritious (and flavorful). It does naturally contain a bit of fat, but it's the beneficial, heart-healthy kind your body needs. Or tuna....FRESH tuna....NOT the nasty canned kind. BIG diff.

I cook mine in a pan with salsa that I get from refrigerated salsa a the supermarket. I just wonder if the fat from the catfish that cook with the salsa is fattening. I know that salmon fat has omega three fatty acids which is essential but makes me nauseous. I stopped eating salmon when it tasted bad.

Try dipping the catfish in a egg and milk mixture fist then use Italian seasoned bread crumbs with parmesan cheese and bake them much healthier than frying.

Boiling? No...Actually that's quite good for you as it's low in fat.

Frying? Yes...The oils and fats from fried foods are bad.

No, of course not. You can make a fish fillet, fish steak, steamed fish, and even tortilla out of the catfish. Now I'm hungry!!!!!
