Jesus is not a male chauvinist. he defined the role for the women , to produce and nurture spirit filled children to the society.

Its wrong that there were no female disciples. In 12 disciples there were no females, but in the early church all whoever followed Jesus were addressed as disciples or saints including women. John 19:38 and matt 27:57 Joseph of Arimathaea is called Disciple. In Acts 9:36 Tabitha, a woman is called as Disciple.
Acts 9:36 reads "Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did".

There were women disciples, but very few called to the five fold
ministry. The first person to preach the Resurrection of Jesus
Christ was a woman.
Deborrah was a Prophetess in the OT.
Jdg 4:4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
Act 21:9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy. NT
I Corinthians 13;8a, Love never fails!!!!!

Err. . . I think there might be my dear.
In Luke 10, the Lord choose 72 disciples, or followers to preach. No sign of them as male or female.
In many passage, there are many female followers, some were accused to be prositute, some were accused to be Jesus' wife. There are. But the inner cord is 12.
Yet again, in those days, the Israelite only allow the male to teach. So in that same manner, I think it is wise of Jesus not to have any female disciple close him, so that people may accept his message easier. I think so.

There were female disciples, ie followers of Christ. The 12 Apostles were selected from the disciples. An Apostle is an office in the priesthood. It is a special witness of Christ.

Who said there were no female disciples??? Understand that a disciple is a student or follower... and Jesus had many... both male and female.
Historically, females in the Jewish society of that era were view pretty much as second class citizens and so had little (if any) voice... and so their presence is rarely noted in any of the writings except when they come in direct contact with Jesus (the woman at the well, the woman healed of her "issue of blood", Mary Magdalene, so forth and so on).
But believe me... just because they were not mentioned often does not mean they were not there.

If by disciples, you mean apostles, like Peter, James, John, Matthew, etal., the culture of Judea/Galilei/Samaria was patriarchal (meaning the men ruled.) Jesus had many women among his followers, some of whom were named in the Bible (Mary Magdalene; Mary & Martha, sisters of Lazarus (whom Jesus raised from the dead); Mary, mother of James & John (to name a few)). If by disciples, you mean any followers of Jesus, then as noted above, there were many female disciples in Jesus' time on Earth

Remember Mary and Martha in Luke 10:40? Do you remember the prophetess Anna in Luke 2:36? I will list the scriptures below for you. If you read the Book of Acts, you will see that there were others that functioned in Ministry.

probably for obvious reasons. to protect the women from harsh cultural penalties for being alone with a group of unmarried men, and to keep 12 heathy young men from being totally distracted!
LOL
and there were female disciples if you count mary magdalene. she obviously believed jesus and followed his teachings most devotedly. jesus obviously didn't worry about his own reputation and standing, but he very courteously did not create a situation for women followers that would have cost them their entire existence. a woman without a husband or father had no recourse in that society, and would have been shunned by her family had she chosen to accompany 13 men while unescorted by a father or brother. mary was safe because she was jesus' mother. otherwise she might have been in trouble as well.
and yes, B00M - women were allowed to study the torah. they weren't allowed to be rabbis...no need to shout.
ok...somebody tell me why this is a bad answer? sheesh

Read the Gospels boy, and see there were female disciples to the prophet Christ but not to Jesus the Two Thieves Crucified,
Jesus is the son of Zeus and worship of Zeus was a strictly male religion, which makes Christianty Zeustianity, but women walked with Christ and were healed by Christ and were fed by Christ, so go check your brain by some shrink. You are in a maze.
AMEN!

There were:
After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod’s household: Susanna: and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means. (Luke 8:1-3)
There are others, but this is a good place to start.
