I can't really say that there is a particular way. Women are different and may respond differently to a variety of courtship invitatons. I'm with the first answerer. Be upfront. I'm not saying that it doesn't sting, but sometimes I think that you guys make this fear of rejection bigger than it has to be. You don't have to put your whole heart on your sleeve. You just made a move, and speaking as a woman that's commendable.

Create a romantic atmosphere.
Roses. Park. Then grab her hand and ask her to go out with you.
I dont know how anyone can say no to that.
I know I wouldnt.
I know it's a cheeseball but lots of girls like cheesy stuff.
Dont hesitate when you ask though, say it with confidence.

Just ask -- the girl may be liking you too and just too shy to say anything. I met up with a man at my reunion a few years back and he said how he always had a crush on me all through high school and just never said anything.
Well funny thing was -- I liked him too, but was too shy.....Dont be shy -- ask her out -- what can it hurt.
