Fruits. I suggest something with a lot of juice and not too filling. Like orange slices, melons, plums, peaches.

Too filling might be like apples or bananas.

Fruits will satisfy your thirst and hunger for awhile, but still leave you hungry when you ready to eat your main meal.

When I get hungry I snack on Carrots, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Radishes etc. Items that do not necessarily add weight gain. I do eat crackers but I eat the low calorie ones.

It's all in size. you eat what you feel that won't stuff you and would hold you for a couple of hours. Personally I just eat a cold cut slice and drink a couple cuts of water. Fruit works fine too.
