christian god thought humans were sinful , correct
christian god was mad at humans for that, right?
christian god wanted to forgive humans, yes?
so ....
christian god came up with the brilliant idea of having a son
with a human teenager, then kill him, and that was the way
to forgive humanity........

isn't that extremely cruel, crazy, mean, nasty, demoniac?

i am serious.......can any christian explain what is the logic or the
"love" in this crazy story without posting a bible verse?
i really want you to convince me.....
with all my respect.....convince me all of you are not stupid for believing in such an ugly story.
no logic arguments, huh?

law...i do apprecciate it, thanks for trying but......there's a lot of logic involved in trust.
example : would you trust a serial killer just because a bunch of lambs tell you he kills in the name of love?

just remember...
when somebody instead of answering you, insults you,
is because they know you are right and hate themselves
for being unable to prove you wrong.

they don't hate you, they hate themselves and the fact of not knowing what to answer or how to prove you wrong.

so all that hate, comes from them, is directed to them and goes back to them.

knot.

Wow, what a confused individual. I'm not a Christian, but I at least try to understand a little about the subject when discussing religion. I think the story goes a little more like this:

Humans sin and get booted from paradise.
God feels bad about it and makes a deal with humans.
God realizes that humans can't live up to their end of the deal.
God takes the place of humans so the deal can be completed.
Humans can now gain forgiveness if they choose to do so.

You do realize that Jesus was in fact God, correct? He wasn't just some dude randomly selected for execution. Read the story of Abraham going to sacrifice his son, the deal that was made, and how all that parallels what happened to Jesus.

p.s....what religion in the history of mankind has had anything to do with logic? Look up "faith" in the dictionary....a belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.

First of all, God created us for fellowship. But He did not want to force us to love Him so He gave us the gift of CHOICE. Because He is perfect and Holy, there had to be a place where there was good and evil to choose from. Man chose evil. So, because there was now a gap between God and man, he needed something or someone to create a bridge. In John 10:11-16, you'll find scripture referring to that fact that He Himself came in the form of a man, to take the punishment once and for all, because no one loves the sheep more than the actual shepherd, someone else wouldn't lay down there own life. God is Love.
If you find the mutilation, torment and murder of Jesus ugly, sick and crazy.....you are right, but know that it was meant for us by our own choices and He loved us so much He took the punishment for us..............ALL OF IT......even what hasn't been done yet.
One more thing....you may not feel that you deserve such punishment, you may feel you are a good person, but another gift that He has given is that He is no respecter of persons.....one lie or a thousand lies is the same sin. We are all guilty and we can all be forgiven. He made it that way for a reason so that NO ONE would be lost. He LOVES you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, what they are saying here is that Jesus did it on his own free will and could have backed out at anytime?! Hmm. I remember in the Bible, that he asked "Why has thou FORSAKEN me"? And that the skies grew black as the night, for God WAS mad. And remember, Jesus was claming at that time to be a prophet, and where he was. He would have been hanged regaurless rather he wanted it or not! That was the laws and rule of that time.

Anyhow, I believe that no mater what we believe we are blessed. How can ALL mankind believe and act the same? Just not possible! Scientology has a just as hard story to believe for me.

So no matter what God or Goddess you have, if any, everyone knows between right and wrong, difference of black and white, good and bad, etc. So if you live right (not what others tell you IS right and force upon you) and you know within yourself that is the right path for you, then why would any loving being forsake you?
There is no argument. It's respect. I have to respect the religion even thou it is not for me. As all religions. I don't understand, I have the right to ask questions, to seek, to choose. But not to impose upon another person and create hate because I don't like what they think! And I don't think that was this persons intention ither; is their seeking now a sin too, and spreading hate, and offending, just for asking a question here and you took it wrong? Then why didn't you turn away without saying a word, that would send them further from that religion rather than embrass them? Is it now your responsiblility that because of how you acted or said, that person would be lost to your religion?

So bless our freedoms for choice. Some of us, do not like things that we preceive as mean or cruel and have the right to object to it. Instead of searching thru others, search within yourself and know yourself and believe that you have the answers within you without the fear of being "judged". Because some will no matter what. Even if a religion tells them not to!

Blessings to you on your path, and bless you for asking this question. And thank you for being so respectful in asking it as well.

Why does everything die?
Why are some people disabled mentally and physically?
Why do we sometimes love someone that doesn't love us back?
Why do people develop drug and alcohol problems?
Why do people ever develop newer and more deadly weapons?
Why are we born into this world?

I don't know. I think if I were God I would make things better. But I don't know why he made things the way he did. I think we are supposed to make things better when we can.

As far as the part of your question about God sending his son here to die, I don't think death is the worst experience we face. I think this life is a part of something more. There must be some reason policemen, firemen and others risk their lives and their families' security for people they don't know. I think we must be connected somehow.

There is little or no logic here. Just a brain dump I guess.

I won't speak on behalf of Christians as I myself do not fully understand this train of logic. Now think of a religion just like Christianity minus the original sin being passed down forever, god NEVER having a son (but only prophets), and therefor God never killed "his son." Besides what if Jesus *ahem* had actually "mated" with other people and had children...would they be God's grandkids? Does that mean some people might have "god blood" on them? Look none of that makes sense, and Im not here to act like I know so I'll let sum1 else handle it. But if you ask me, Islam makes more sense (Christianity minus all the confusion :-D) Either way lets all just be...happy! :-) Peace

Hi light&peace, Personaly I think it would be rather hard to discuss the Bible without quoting the Bible. If you want to talk about Creation, the wrath of God, The Cruxifiction, The Resurection, and not quote the Bible all your going to get is opinoins and what people are comfortable with.

This is how false Gospels get started. People who do not want to be Judged by God relying on the word of men instead of the Word of God.

It is ridiculous to expect a complete and accurate explanation of this complicated subject in this forum, but here goes anyway:

The first couple, Adam and Eve, sinned.

The consequences of that sin served to enslave all mankind under the domination of Satan, the devil.

Mankind had no ability to remedy the situation, and without God's intervention would have been lost forever.

Jesus, the son of God became man in order to allow himself to be illegally put to death by the forces of evil so that Satan's legitimate authority over mankind could be taken away.

Satan had no right to arrange the crucifixion of Jesus, but he did it anyway ... through his loyal subjects (the Romans and the corrupt Jews).

Once Jesus had been unjustly put to death, Satan had to answer for it.

As a result, God legally took away all that Satan had gained from Adam's sin, raised Jesus from the dead, and promptly appointed Jesus the new head of all mankind.

God's confidence in the great work of his perfect and triumphant son led him to grant forgiveness for sin, and grace, through his church, to all those who believe in him.

The rest is history.

My god! How you have been taught!
When I was young, I also was lost in this teaching. However, Christianity should not be that obviously stupid. Should it be? I think any of the religions should not be..right? Why not you take this way?
God created human. Human were become doing wrong things (is it called "sin"? what ever!) Jesus came to the world to explain what human have done all those wrong doings. This is called salvation of your souls. Some ppl accepted and followed him. some ppl could not accept and killed him. The ppl who understand Jesus's teaching, changed and repented so avoiding wrong doings anymore and they started preaching His teaching which is very challenging and dangerous at that time. That's why they were killed also but their teaching never end. So it called Christianity.
What is not logical in this story? It is all about history of humanism.
(p.s. no Bible quote..satisfied?)

All in the love of a parent.

your story in a family setting.

The parents made a child.
The child did not follow the parents advice repeatedly, and moved away in a relationship with the parents
The child got hurt
The parents were upset
The parents wanted to forgive the child and bring the child back into relationship of love, as parents always know better than the child (At least in this metaphor).
Parent thought of an idea.
Show the child that they hurt the parent.
The parent gave a piece of themself to the child
The child mutilated what the parent gave.
But the lesson was taught without punishing the child as they deserved

That is your story in a nutshell.
The child has two choices
1) see the error in their way and be reconciled
2) stay estranged from the parent
