There is a fine line! Being cocky mean you THINK you know everything. Being confident means you KNOW that you have talent!

Sure you would.. We are all STRANGERS TO YOU!!!
And from what you just said..."(proof: i wouldnt be asking this question if i never doubted myself)" tells me you are cocky.
Everyone has self doubts at times and if you dont, then you are just flat out lying to yourself.
Heres a good description of a cocky guy.
This guy had dated all my cousins (girls of course).. and when it came my turn I TURNED HIM DOWN. He told me that I should feel special that he had asked me out, because he didnt have to.. But He thought that I was a better catch than the others he had dated. He listed all of his qualities to me.. how good looking he was, how much money he made, and good I would look with him. He couldnt talk about a single thing except for.. Numero uno..himself... so I told him what he was a cocky SOB, and further told him that once he grew up and got over himself he MIGHT have a chance.
He is now married to a COCKY BIOTCH who is just like him so they deserve each other I think.
There are so many of you.. Guys who think they are hot sh*t on a stick.. but they aint nothing but a smelly fart on a splinter.

the difference is on the attitude, being confident is a good thing, being cocky is a negative thing. just because of the way they act to show off to others how they are more than others.

Personally I think you are probably cocky just for asking that question. why don't you try to seem interested in other people's lives and maybe they won't think you only think about yourself.!

There's nothing wrong with being proud of yourself. Sadly there are a lot of neurotics who cant 'stand to see someone else proud of themselves because then it means they can't manipulate you or play on low self esteem to make you do their bidding. Ignore them.
