i am thinking of buying a 2wd v6 5spd tacoma and making a "POOR MANS" prerunner with just a lift of some sort to get P245/65r17 tires and wheels in place of the stocker 14".since i plan ZERO off roading and will be doing this for looks ONLY ,what is cheapest way to raise truck and try to keep an OK ride quality

Abody lift only is about 300 however a suspension lift is 500 to 600. Won't the coolness of the lift be a mute point considering anyone who knows anything about cars will know you jacked up a 2WD why not make it a lowrider instead.

Dude I agree with Tacoma, and I must say that even chicks like me will harass you endlessly, and there is nothing worse than having your truck made fun of by a chick.

Toyota Tacoma Prerunner is built on their 4wd frame minus the differentiel and transfer case.the frame of the Tacoma 2wd is completely different,making it a poor candidate for a lift kit.

dude if doing this to impress people and mountain cutie can figure out the answer to this question ,then I highly recommend you don't even bother cause guys like me ,who pour money into lifts, will harrass you endlessly

you can use a 3 or 6 inch lift kit. otherwise bigger tires is always a sloution
