i have a problem because my hair will not grow, the reason for that is because it breaks off really bad. what can i do to stop this from happening. i have tryed a few different shampoos. i don't like hair grease all that much so i don't apply it often, could that be the reason? or could it be something else?

thank you

I have course, curly hair and I used to straighten it all the time causing terrible breakage......Try putting some cholesterol in it...I usually find it in the ethnic hair section at walmart. That will only run your a couple bucks...if you looking to spend little more, go get you some Bio silk......But I like the cholesterol better...also you need to take a look at your diet, my breakage was due to abuse....if you aren't abusing your hair it could be something internal. If your body is lacking something it need, hair and nails are "disposable" and your body will deprive them first before like your organs and such......But if its just that you're using your blow dryer and flat iron too much try those other things. (Oh yeah cholesterol don't leave your hair greasy like a sheen will)

You need a good conditioner too. There are many anti-breakage ones, such as Nexxus. They are expensive, about $25 each. The best thing to do will be going to a salon; they will see and feel your hair and based on that recommend you a professional product (not over-the-counter one). It will be expensive, but at least it will work, and usually these products last 5 times longer than the regular ones, so you'll still save money.

Hair should be healthy, try eating a good nutritious diet so you are getting the right amount of vitamins your body needs. And use a natural mulit vitamin supplement.
Most shampoos and hair products contain many harsh chemicals, you should use natural hair and skin products. Check out this site and look at the books too, some on natural shampoos.

It depends. Is your hair colored?Do you take medications? You need to keep your ends clipped every 4-6 weeks. Be sure to deep condition it also. You might even have to cut all the chemicals out and start over.
