Why are so many hateful and racist things allowed on this site? It's supposed to be about immigration questions, not a forum for white-supremacists to gather and spew hatred.

I knew I'd get a lot of responses, but am pleasantly surprised by all the positive ones. As one person suggested, I don't hate white people, I am a white person. I do hate all the racist remarks by white people, though. Or perhaps I shouldn't assume they are all white. It's just embarrassing to me, as a white person, to see the way white people treat Mexicans. My husband is Mexican American and I am offended by all the hatred spewed to Mexicans and that people are generalizing the bad behavior of a few to all. And, yes, I too, report abuse. And I like the suggestion made by one person, maybe I should be made moderator. It would be so much fun deleting all those hateful posts!

You go girl!!!!! My hat off to you. I bet your husband is a good cook......Mine is. I am also married to a "Mexican". I am white. I call him my little "espalda Mojado" pero con much carino. Read my profile and just see what a difference my husband has made in my life. My children love him. Keep in touch. I will vote for you to be moderator

Because the ones that are ignorant will turn anything into a forum for their "opinion" of others. I am sure if given the opportunity, they would even go under the pregnancy and parneting section and spout their racist rhetoric.
Just consider the source. As many as there are of those spewing such garbage, there are those that don't really feel that way - they just wish to bunch up someone's panties. And what better way than ignorance?
Take the high road, and remember - it is very easy to make the stupid look that way. Especially when they give you the ammo, right?

Yes it has a moderator but you need to report most of the stuff becuase this area of the forum has so many questions coming in that it is really hard for them to truly catch everything that is put in the area. I answerd a question with facts and got a question blasted at me from the person. I decided to have a little fun with them and post one back showing all the facts and both the questions ended up removed, so somone is doing something.

This site has no one looking into it other than people. If a section is overrun with hateful people, and no one else comes in for reporting, it happens. I am not the only one to complain.
I think that instead of that (now two of them!) report abuse icon, there's a section for reporting so that only the bad go away and not the nit-picky ones. And with more happy people not getting banned for no reason, we can report the real abuse!

If you do it long enough, you begin to know the times that certain people are on here. I've noticed a lot of liberals on between 3-5 am, but then, all of a sudden, conservatives pop in around 7 am. It's a trip.

may be have 2 catgegories 1) free for all-no holds barred-let her rip-get it off your chest- frustration venting-verblize your hate passion etc
2) thoughtful level headed solution oriented discussions w/o racist remarks

None have moderators - that is what the abuse report is for.
I do not come to this category often but it has not seemed anymore racist than any other category.

Perhaps the category can be renamed or moved to something more appropriate.

What a label for a person such as myself that wants the US government to stop making excuses and get off their apathetic asses and start enforcing the laws. I do hate illegals. I hate the CURRENT Administration for allowing this invasion to continue even after 911.
I changed my mind. I DO hate illegals. They are lawbreakers!
