I want to put a generic answer but to be honest when you said "HONEYMOON" I stopped dead in my tracks. Because it is a honeymoon you should really talk to someone who can get you and tell you what will give you what you are looking for. Sure you can go independent and book a great trip but say you go on Travelocity and the picture looks fantastic however they don't have that main thing you and your new wife want on vacation like a romantic atmosphere or privacy and your room is to tiny to get comfortable. It will totally ruin what you are trying to achieve on this honeymoon and since this is once in a life time event to this woman....make it special don't wing it. I recommend talking to a Travel Agent anyone with experience. Often it doesn't cost a thing for advice but in turn they will make the reservation for you and are paid through commission. If you find a lower price for their suggestion tell them because most travel agency have best rate guarantee. There is some tips below in the next paragraph and CONGRATULATIONS : )

Yes I recommend www.majestytraveler.com. We coordinate all trips from cruises and private vacations. FROM Luxury vacations TO independent backpack trips. Most of our clients are on payment arrangements. Only with last minute deals are they required to pay in full.

Good thing about Majesty traveler is the vacation planning starts with you. ASK YOUR SELF BEFORE YOU CALL ANY TRAVEL AGENCY: what you are looking for on this vacation? what experience you want to have on this vacation? what is your budget for this vacation or getaway? what type of property would you enjoy for your stay? what are the things you want to do? IF you know where you want to go. Tell the agent where you want to go and they should find the place that fulfills your desires and what you are looking to experience on this vacation. Having your agent understand these questions upfront ensures you will get the most for your money and that your agent will be on the hunt for achieving your vacation plans.
If a travel agent is not asking these questions from you before they get started then I would find another agent.

This is Majesty Traveler's philosophy on our clients vacations plans, after all it is your money and you should get the most out of every penny.

replace your honeymoon plans and do something a lot less extreme priced. that's the reason i imagine anybody getting married could pay for his or her very own wedding ceremony and in no way position self assurance in others to accomplish that. We ended up spending very few days remote from abode in a motel about 50 miles away after our wedding ceremony and performance been "honeymooning" at abode over the perfect 11 months. we've planned a better troublesome, longer holiday it truly is already paid in finished to celebrate our first anniversary in 4 weeks.

My sister is going on a honeymoon to Jamaica in December. I have visited Jamaica before and it is beautiful! She originally was going to a Carribean island, but for a lower price they are going to stay in Jamaica at Sandals. They do huge suites and all adult hotels. You can visit any of the 5 Sandal hotels while you are in Jamaica. They are getting a really good deal! :)

My husband and I eloped to Las Vegas in 2004 and spent our honeymoon there :) We LOVED it!!! We don't drink that much, we don't gamble, but the people-watching, the food, and the HUGE variety of free things to do is absolutely AMAZING!!! We went back for our first anniversary and will probably go many more times! It was exactly like I expected and so incredibly different from real life, I think that's what hooked us, the perfect "get away from it all" :)

Sandals resorts are located all around the caribbean. My wife and I got married at the Sandals Ocho Rios.

If you are thinking cruises, my wife and I just booked a 7 day cruise that will visit San Juan, PR, St Thomas USVI, Dominica, Barbados, St Lucia and Antigua. Its a Carnival Cruise out of San Juan PR departing on Jan 7

Try Barbados! You could search for information on it on Google if you like. It's in the eastern Caribbean if you did not know. I would love to get eloped there or have a honeymoon. :) Or even both.

Here are the websites directly to have a look at, which I hope help:

cayman Islands! I've been there and it's alot of fun and you could make it really romantic.
If you go secifically to Grand Cayman you can get all around the island without renting a car. It's very small and secluded and everything you need is in walking or cab riding distance.
